    Holiday Cottages in Weston-Super-Mare

Oh do you like to be beside the seaside? Weston-Super-Mare is one of the oldest holiday resorts in the UK, offering visitors all the romance of the Great British seafront with plenty going on for all ages. And what better way to experience this authentic British seaside resort than a stay in your very own little hideaway? Well, pick from a range of holiday cottages in Weston-Super-Mare and you can do exactly that.

Once a sleepy little fishing village, Weston super-mare made a name for itself in the 19th century, springing to life as a popular holiday resort as happy holidaymakers made use of the newly opened train lines. Today, Weston-Super-Mare is as popular as ever, for many of the same reasons – the amusement arcades, charming tea rooms and the three magnificent piers: Birnbeck Pier, Grand Pier and Clevedon Pier, each with their own unique character and plenty going on.

What's so great about cottage holidays in Weston-Super-Mare?

Alongside Weston-Super-Mare's perennially popular piers and sandy beach you'll find lots to keep you and the family busy. You'll find shops, amusement arcades and tea rooms galore as you take the leisurely stroll along the promenade. For those who love the sea, but don't necessarily like the idea of getting their feet wet, a trip to the Seaquarium might just be in order.

Weston-Super-Mare is oldest seaside resort in Britain, and many of its magnificent Art Deco and historic buildings are still standing. If history is your bag, you can explore the town's fine heritage at the Weston-Super-Mare Museum. If helicopters are more your thing (and why not?) then the nearby Helicopter Museum is definitely worth stopping by.

Weston-Super-Mare cottages are a great choice for anyone looking to stay in for amazing British seaside resort and want all the convenience, and character, of their very own little home from home. Whether it's large accommodation for a group of friends or a smaller little nook in easy reach of the local sights and sounds, there are Weston-Super-Mare cottages to suit everyone.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Chen Chiu-ming - Verified booking

We had spent 5 amazing nights at the accommodation, as a group of 9 with elderly and children.

The key highlights of the stay was the lovely, aesthetically pleasing yet practical, modern and clean accommodation. It is a lovely house with plenty of space and a very nice and well looked after garden. The combined kitchen/dining area was the central part of the house for us as the whole group can be in the same area yet be able to naturally split off to do our own thing eg. cooking in the kitchen, having tea or preparing the ingredients in the dining area, and kids playing and watching TV in the corner. We enjoyed our meals under the sky roof in the dining area and sliding doors to the garden. We had also used the barbecue grill for one evening, which we got help with operating the gas supply from the host very quickly and easily. All amenities were well thought out from wash basin sensored lights, to night light hand torches that turn on automatically for finding the toilets at night. All appliances are very modern. To accommodate for 10 people, all appliances, amenities and space were good and of quality. As a bonus we were greeted by the friendly host and we were welcomed with cake, wine and farm shop milk which we enjoyed. We also refilled the milk once with standard milk and chocolate orange milk at the farm shop nearby. The stay was wonderful and we very much enjoyed our holiday.

Nice, mostly well equipped property with plenty of space for 2 families of 4.

I say mostly as the showers and hot water system are not suitable for 8 people, after 3 quick showers hot water runs dry and you need to wait 40 minutes for it to reheat for your next 3 showers. (The owner didn't see this was to much of a problem, its an eco system). Our new year's stay was ruined by the attitude of the owners, prior to our arrival we asked the owner in writing for permission to set off fireworks to see in the new year to which we received a prompt reply saying that yes we could, "no problem". However as soon as we started the fireworks at 6pm, not midnight to be considerate to the local residents, we were promptly stopped by the owner who didn't realise the fireworks would be loud. This spoilt our new years celebrations, the purpose of our visit and left 4 young children extremely upset and the adults annoyed, had the owner said no to the fireworks in the first instance we could of made other arrangements and saved our money. We spent £150 on fireworks that we cannot use, the owner refused any compensation. We would not recommend or stay at this property again.

We were generally very happy with our experience at the Old Stables.

It was a shame that the normal welcome packs, books, DVDs etc are not available & I can not really understand why Sykes are insisting on this given the enhanced cleaning regimes? We only had two minor quibbles with the property with both of us being on the large (but not very large) side: 1. It was a very tight squeeze getting into the shower due to the design of the doors 2. We chose a property with a king size bed but the duvet only just covered the mattress when there was no one in the bed which meant one of us was often not covered. My only other comment related to the local pub. There was only one close enough to walk to so we chose to eat there on the night we arrived. I phoned on the Wednesday before to try to book a table but they were already fully booked. We managed to eat at an outside table but that could have been a problem in inclement weather. The food was delicious and we would recommend the Old Inn - it would perhaps be helpful though if the owners could warn people that they need to book several days before arrival if that is possible?

We cannot begin to tell you how much we loved the home you allow others to share.

Once a year we choose to go away somewhere with the family - there are 10 of us including my disabled sister with cerebral palsy. I am not exaggerating when I say we all entered 'the Retreat' and in unison said 'wow!'. Each room we entered was another lot of wows! The house is so beautifully and thoughtfully designed. There are comfortable spaces within the house to relax with others or, if you choose, have a quiet time by yourself. Having an ensuite room downstairs was convenient for my disable sister who is a wheelchair user. We were very touched by your generosity of a 'welcome pack'. We have packed a lot activities into our 4 days knowing we were heading back to a beautiful and cozy 'Retreat' every evening. Thank you John and Lucy for making us all feel so welcome and for being there at the end of the telephone/text/emails to answer any query that we had. You have thought about everything! We have enjoyed reading other guests comments and you so deserve all the wonderful praise. Absolutely spotless! Thank you and see you again hopefully soon!

A wonderful stay at The Retreat for our family of 10 aging from 3 to 66.

We had great communication with Lucy in the lead up to our arrival who was super helpful, and were warmly welcomed! Special treats awaited us… the almond and honey cake was delicious and fresh milk from the local dairy! The Retreat has everything you could want for a holiday stay, they have thought of everything and it’s truly a home from home. The accommodation is so immaculately kept my father-in-law questioned more than once whether we were in fact, the first guests to stay. Waking up to views of the fields & countryside was a delight & stepping out the front door we were greeted by horse riders coming down the quiet residential road. The village of Lympsham is very pretty and well-kept, the cricket green is a short walk past the church and primary school & there is a local shop where you can pick up any necessities and the paper. We ate in both nights of our stay as we were so happy with our surroundings, nobody wanted to leave on the Sunday! Thanks for a fabulous stay.
