    Holiday Cottages in Weston-Super-Mare

Oh do you like to be beside the seaside? Weston-Super-Mare is one of the oldest holiday resorts in the UK, offering visitors all the romance of the Great British seafront with plenty going on for all ages. And what better way to experience this authentic British seaside resort than a stay in your very own little hideaway? Well, pick from a range of holiday cottages in Weston-Super-Mare and you can do exactly that.

Once a sleepy little fishing village, Weston super-mare made a name for itself in the 19th century, springing to life as a popular holiday resort as happy holidaymakers made use of the newly opened train lines. Today, Weston-Super-Mare is as popular as ever, for many of the same reasons – the amusement arcades, charming tea rooms and the three magnificent piers: Birnbeck Pier, Grand Pier and Clevedon Pier, each with their own unique character and plenty going on.

What's so great about cottage holidays in Weston-Super-Mare?

Alongside Weston-Super-Mare's perennially popular piers and sandy beach you'll find lots to keep you and the family busy. You'll find shops, amusement arcades and tea rooms galore as you take the leisurely stroll along the promenade. For those who love the sea, but don't necessarily like the idea of getting their feet wet, a trip to the Seaquarium might just be in order.

Weston-Super-Mare is oldest seaside resort in Britain, and many of its magnificent Art Deco and historic buildings are still standing. If history is your bag, you can explore the town's fine heritage at the Weston-Super-Mare Museum. If helicopters are more your thing (and why not?) then the nearby Helicopter Museum is definitely worth stopping by.

Weston-Super-Mare cottages are a great choice for anyone looking to stay in for amazing British seaside resort and want all the convenience, and character, of their very own little home from home. Whether it's large accommodation for a group of friends or a smaller little nook in easy reach of the local sights and sounds, there are Weston-Super-Mare cottages to suit everyone.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Eileen - Verified booking

The two resident geese can be a bit scary when they come up close to you, might upset children if they wish to play outside, and you have to watch where you are walking due to their droppings.

The lodge is clean, comfortable and warm with all the mod cons expected in a self catering place and they all worked well. The safe we found in one of the wardrobes, we were unable to use, as it was locked and is the only item that there are no instructions for in the folder provided. It is on a flight path, so we were often woken up around 6 am with the noise from the planes and the geese honking. Some of the items of crockery were chipped, but as there were only two of us staying, we just used the ones that were OK. Larger bath towels would have been appreciated, but we always gripe about this, even some of the best hotels do not provide decent sized towels. Net curtains, or blinds at the bedroom windows would make an improvement. The lodges are quite close, so we kept the curtains closed in the bedroom to give us privacy from the neighbours, making the room dark. This sound like a lot of complaints, but we were happy with the accommodation and enjoyed our time there. Weather was good and we were able to sit out on the veranda most afternoons enjoying the sunshine while drinking our tea.

We were generally very happy with our experience at the Old Stables.

It was a shame that the normal welcome packs, books, DVDs etc are not available & I can not really understand why Sykes are insisting on this given the enhanced cleaning regimes? We only had two minor quibbles with the property with both of us being on the large (but not very large) side: 1. It was a very tight squeeze getting into the shower due to the design of the doors 2. We chose a property with a king size bed but the duvet only just covered the mattress when there was no one in the bed which meant one of us was often not covered. My only other comment related to the local pub. There was only one close enough to walk to so we chose to eat there on the night we arrived. I phoned on the Wednesday before to try to book a table but they were already fully booked. We managed to eat at an outside table but that could have been a problem in inclement weather. The food was delicious and we would recommend the Old Inn - it would perhaps be helpful though if the owners could warn people that they need to book several days before arrival if that is possible?

Generally the accommodation was OK, however the bathroom is well overdue for replacement.

The sink and shower water outlets are rusty. The shower base is now yellowing and the glass shower screen is not clear giving the appearance that it was unclean. The tiling grout inside the shower cubicle is mostly discoloured at the bottom half of the cubicle, also giving the appearance that it was unclean. Because of this I personally could not use the shower, it's not ideal to be without a shower for five days. I object to paying for, and be expected to use, facilities that are sub standard. All other facilities were fine, although the sellotaped TV remote only worked intermittently which was occasionally annoying. The location is lovely and the member of staff I met, James, was very pleasant indeed. Sort the bathroom out and I would be very happy to return.

Although we enjoyed our week at Owls retreat, we were disappointed to find that we felt mislead regarding the description of the cottage that had no separate garden.

The description read (Garden with lawn and furniture, communal play area available for guest use) But found it was a (communal garden) for all 4 cottages with no gate to keep safely dogs in and being nearby a road too dangerous to let them off the lead there. In saying that there was an area to the rear of the cottage that we could walk around and let dogs into when there was no horse occupy it. Just feel that this should be listed differently so people know its not a cottage with enclosed garden. On a lighter note we enjoyed the facilities in the Barn where we could play Pool, Table Tennis and table football and we enjoyed watching the horses in the riding arena from our cottage window.

      WOW. What a fabulous break.

Just home from 5 nights in Robins Corner, peaceful, comfortable and well equipped, ideal also for my elderly father who loved it. The views are fantastic, we were lucky with the weather and ate outside on the patio every day. A bonus to be able to enjoy the walks from the property over the fields and see the adorable cows. Hot tub is amazing and was checked daily by our hosts who were both lovely. We had a meal at the Queens Arms in the village which we would highly recommend, excellent food and service, staff very friendly. We really couldn’t have asked for anything more. Just perfect. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family. Thank you :)
