What our customers say about their holidays

    • Laura - Verified booking

We did enjoy our time and had a lovely holiday exploring the area.

However I felt that the accommodation could have made many improvements and would also need to be more honest in there description about the property. For a few examples, there is pretty much no Internet connection yet it advertises free WiFi which should be removed. The maintenance of the property should be noted such as the track to the property. I understand its a farm but I don't think it's necessary to have geese droppings to avoid on entrying to the cottage and around the car. Lifting suitcases to ensure we don't drag any in to the cottage. The cottage it self was lovely and modern but no freezer compartment, which I asked if there was in advance after reading a comment that there wasn't one for the corn store. I asked and was told there was one. To find when I arrive there isn't one and we have to use a separate freezer in the barn (which meant going around geese, peacocks and emus). A strange experience but meant we had to think in advance if we needed something from the freezer. The sofa is very low and should be mentioned for those with disabilities as you are pretty much on the floor. Which we didn't mind at first but by the end of our week we were very uncomfortable. Lastly it would be a good idea to put some hooks on the wall. As we had rainy weather it would have been useful. We had to use the dining room chairs to hang wet items which wasn't ideally. Apart from this we did enjoy our stay, the hot tub was lovely in the evening watching the stars and the commentary bubbly (was lovely on our first night in the hot tub). The under floor heating is a nice touch and the chance to interact with animals is a great experience.

The Old Corn Store was the first holiday myself and my husband went on together when we had only been dating a few months - and this visit was our 2nd stay at the property (for our 2nd wedding anniversary!

). We received a warm welcome from the hosts - bubbly, milk and biscuits was a lovely touch and very welcome after a long drive from Scotland! The cottage is lovely - amazing views, hot tub and has everything you need for your stay. It was also fun to see the animals on the farm - there are often helpers around on the farm so just ask them and they are more than happy to let you visit the animals. Only gripe would be that we were waaay too warm the first night - however, my husband spoke to the hosts the following day and turns out there was another thermostat hiding behind a curtain that we hadn't seen - problem solved! Only other thing I would say is that the road leading to the farm is very pot-holey and could do with a repair. This cottage is ideal for couples and a dog (we took our little dog with us too). Recommend going to the moors for a walk. Also recommend going into Haworth (we actually spent most of our time there when we were out). A few (dog friendly) eateries worth a mention - Haworth Old Hall (owners are a delight and very tasty food), the Hawthorn (amazing steaks from charcoal grill), The Fleece Inn (yummy pies). Also worth popping to the chocolate shop in Howarth and picking up a box of their signature salted toffee and coconut oil truffles (shop is not dog friendly- but the lady working there is lovely). Thank you for a wonderful stay and we cannot wait to return again! Nikki, Joe and Snoopy x

What an amazing time we’ve had up in West Yorkshire for my 23rd birthday.

Me and my Fiancée enjoyed 3 nights up in the picturesque ‘The Old Corn Store’. We didn’t speak much to the hosts but we were welcomed warmly and greeted with a ‘morning’ when we bumped into them. They accommodated very well for our dog with a paddock at the back for him to run around in. The cottage was very warm, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, overlooking the town below and at night in the hot tub offered some relaxing views. We visited Haworth and Skipton which offer a wide range of Dog friendly pubs and cafes. Great facilities within the lodge with ovens and hob, fridge freezer and even a dishwasher and an extremely spacious shower. Overall it was just so relaxing and enjoyable which was something we wanted to do on this break. We’re not ones for normally going back somewhere when we’ve been no matter how joyous it may have been, because we like to explore other places. However, we will be making an exception in this case and will hopefully be back before the year is out. Thankyou so much to the owners for having us and for the Prosecco on arrival too. Very classy touch.

The Old Corn Store is a nice cottage, with a bit of luxury added by the addition of a hot tub.

The views from the cottage, especially at night time when you can see the lights of Keighley are amazing. We had a lovely relaxing time and enjoyed the proximity of the alpacas and other animals. The provision of a tea/coffee/milk and a bottle of prosecco on arrival were very welcome. We have rated the cottage good rather than excellent because it is down a very rough track, and could do with a deep clean - a number of glasses etc had to be washed before use. The addition of a washing machine, somewhere to hang wet towels and a mirror near a power point would improve the cottage, as would improving the mobile/wifi signal; but that said the bed was very comfortable and Jo and Stuart welcomed us on arrival although we did not see them again during our stay. The cottage and surroundings are very dog friendly with a few walks from the door to nearby cafes, and although Keighley is not a tourist location it is near enough to a number of places that are, so makes a good base, although initially a bit difficult to find. Overall, we would recommend The Old Corn Store.

We are a couple in our 70's and found the seating in the cottage totally uncomfortable.

The lovely red leather seating was only one foot off the ground and there was no way we could get up from a seating position without rolling off onto our hands and knees before pushing ourselves up to a standing position. This seating was not shown on your website photographs. We had to sit on the dining chairs whilst in the cottage. The animals surrounding the three holiday lets were a delight, but the Peacocks were vocal until dark and then again from daybreak. Perhaps this cottage should have had a warning notice about the noise. There was no freezer or freezer compartment within the cottage. We had our dog with us who has a raw food diet needing a freezer. We were able to get around this by buying fresh raw meat each day, but a small freezer compartment would have been handy. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, the cottage was lovely and clean and the views were spectacular. We were central to all the places that we had listed to visit and the short break did us good.
