What our customers say about their holidays

    • Michael - Verified booking

The property is immaculate and extremely well-run.

From the welcoming handwritten letter ( a very nice personal touch ) coffee, tea bags and biscuits. The communication with the owners was excellent and the property has everything to hand. A comprehensive manual listing all the appliances and many other helpful tips. The large Co-op store and many other shops and restaurants are within seven minutes' walking distance. Pannett Park housing the museum and the children's playpark is directly across the road. The property as I said earlier is immaculate the sofa's are very comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped and the king-size beds offer an excellent night's sleep. The apartment is also stocked with a plethora of children's games and toys. Which are grandson who was travelling with us very much enjoyed! In essence, the owners are extremely good hosts who ensure that all the clients enjoy a very good break. This would certainly be our first choice if we choose to visit Whitby again. Thank you Mr & Mrs Davies your apartments are a credit to you both. Kind Regards Michael & Audrey McKay

Undoubtedly a beautiful location, the view from the sofa was outstanding . Beautiful and fully equipped cottage . Any critism would be that it was over stocked, for instance the bread maker took a large amount of kitchen space ! I would agree though that the smell of fresh bread on arrival is a plus . Lots of extras included . A tiny cottage, for 2 adults and we only had one small dog although 2 were allowed . Everything was of superb quality , bedding towels etc . Prior to arrival I felt slightly bombarded with messages about not arriving before 5pm . And almost as though we were being watched . We parked up at 4.45 and took the dog for a walk before going into Ewelands . It was quite an uncomfortable start . We also left the day before our due date because of the 9.30 leaving time, again feeling the pressure . Having said that we had a lovely holiday with every comfort provided .

The apartment is absolutely beautiful and a credit to the owners.

Everything you could possibly want is there. Home from home basically. No parking issues as there is a huge double garage for apartment one to use and a lovely outside area at the rear of the apartment with table, chairs and loungers for if the weather is good. Two big fabulously comfy beds making it difficult to even think about getting up on a morning. It’s a short walk into town (around 4-5 minutes) where there is a Co-op to get daily provisions. Alternatively there are other big supermarkets a short drive inland. We found a few nice places to eat a short drive away (The Stables highly recommended, huge outside area in a wonderful setting with fantastic views) as the town was really busy with it being a bank holiday weekend and the last week of the school summer holidays. We would highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking to spend time in Whitby.

Had a fantastic stay at cowslip retreat. Accommodation was beautifully decorated and to a high standard and well equipped but you do need to take you own sauces, oils etc etc. The views from the patio were outstanding. The pub at the top of the road was unfortunately temporarily closed so we had a walk to the Salmon Leap pub which was a 20 minute walk, they only have short opening hours 5-10 every day. Bus stop only a 5 minute walk to take you into Whitby. Molly was extremely helpful. I messaged het a few times with questions which she answered straight away. She was there when we arrived and showed us around. Would definitely recommend .

This property is one of the best we've ever stayed in. It's well equipped and feels cosy on the dark cold nights. Lots of information in folders which is great, rather than having to pick up leaflets from tourists information places like we usually do. Loved every minute of our holiday in Sleights/ Whitby. The view from the property is so nice to wake up to in the morning, even when the weather is a bit dull. Would recommend this property 100% to anyone who was looking for a holiday in this beautiful part of the country
