HI .. Our stay was lovely, thank you
. Great views from the living room so it didn't matter if the weather didn't entice you outside. Lots of space and have two areas to watch TV made life alot easier for those who have different viewing interests. Especialy if the weather is not good! A few points that would have ensured that we were would have been completely comfortable - The weather, though luckily good, was not warm and the heating system is not easily understandable. A couple of the towel rails came on in the middle of the night. As it was warm - we did not need it so turned down their separate thermostats but then when it was cold on the last day and we still had wet towels from the mornings showers and could not dry them, even though we turned up the separate thermostats, the heating did not come back on again. I knew, from the reviews that the heating might be an issue so it would be really helpful for all visitors to understand the way the system works. Also, could there be better detailed instruction for recycling. We took most of ours home but it would be good if we knew what to do with bottles etc while we were there so that we wouldn't have to. The beds were very comfortable - they really were! We all really got some excellent holiday rest. Would definitely come back again as the location and space are perfect - I would just like to be reassured that the heating would be controllable!.

The heating was an issue.
The top bedrooms and ground floor and bedroom were freezing. ( a damp patch on wall in top bedroom.) We Called someone out who said the previous tenants had tampered with the dial. So he corrected it. It was a bit warmer at night when temp dropped as he raised it from 18 - 20 The middle floor was very warm and it seems thatâs where the thermostat is so although itâs warm there the rest of the house is very cold and not getting up to the set tempreture. The noise from the pub Friday and Saturday night was insane. Sat night it was a party which was until midnight! Plus people leaving the pub.The music was heard Thumping in the upstairs rooms. We couldnât sleep . We were told we could not unload at the property when we arrived. In actual fact we could as many other people were unpacking and loading as well. The property was very clean and well furnished for large parties. I think to stay in warmer weather would be good if you donât mind the pub noise. I also agree to have to strip the beds and leave by ten is pretty unfair. Most of family left Sunday and me and my husband left Monday. So we managed to strip the beds the night before. We could not have got everyone out by ten with 2 babies and 3 children plus 8 adults.

Internet is very poor.
We know it is shared between this and next door, Gull Cottage. When both properties are occupied Internet is effectively non existent, For the price of the property I think this would be a reasonable improvement to make. The table and chairs in the kitchen have been replaced, the table is fine but the chairs are most uncomfortable and spoil what used to be a great social centre space for the house. We were lucky the weather was good enough we could sit outside most of the time, it would have been a struggle otherwise. The fridge is not great for the size of house and number of guests. I would like to suggest a small fridge or drinks fridge could be put into the TV room adj to the kitchen to increase cold food storage space in the existing fridge. We have now rebooked for 2023, we hesitated when such a large increase of £900ish was published back in June, now prices seem to have been reduced to a more acceptable level we have happily rebooked. We see prices increase above inflation each year for this property, the first few years we stayed we could see the investment and improvements made so I do hope my suggestions above will be given due consideration. Hi there, we had such a magical stay at the house.
It's brilliantly set up for families and we so appreciated spending the festive period there. Sure we'll be back again. Thank you also for all the festive decorations, we had bought our own tree not thinking for a second you would have gone to that effort, so that happily stayed in the car! Parking was also a godsend and amazing to have space for 3 cars. Couple of minor points - no hot water in shower (very tepid) in back bedroom, tv didn't work for most of the stay due to bad signal (we're not TV people but we felt bad for people who might have wanted that, esp at Christmas!), lots of noise bleed from top bedroom to twin bedroom which is due to floorboards - they look beautiful up there but carpet prob a better option. We also forgot our portable speaker and recommend putting in a bluetooth enabled speaker/hifi, rather than ipod dock. Hope this is helpful. None of it took away from such a brilliant stay and rest of the house's facilities and comfortable furnishings and style.

We booked the last week in August at a premium (6k) price - so we were expecting a really good experience.
The family were delighted with the property and the rooms were comfortable. The small and large lounge areas were a disappointment but the kitchen was very comfortable and a good family area. There were a few niggles with equipment- a broken shower in the downstairs twin bed - a broken coffee maker and missing cork screw. I was mislead by the office about parking - there is one allocated space (for an occupancy of 9) but it is not next to the property but about 500 yds away. The two local car parks were rammed and cost around £22 per 24 hours - an extra £200+ expense. Access by car to the property is difficult so dropping off and picking up were a challenge . We left a day early - one because of the weather and two because of a really strange smell (dead mice?) in the small downstairs lounge area. Overall, I did not think I got good value for the cost involved but nevertheless we had a good time with the family. Lyme is a very interesting town and the beach is fabulous.
