What our customers say about their holidays

    • Nikki - Verified booking

This is a great property and is really well positioned in the lovely seaside town - for the shops and for the marina.

There are 2 small supermarkets within 2 mins walk in either direction and a bigger one a few mins drive away The property is well equipped for the average family with good storage for coats / boots downstairs and good drawer / wardrobe space upstairs. There were also dog treats and a dog dish for visitors. The property was spotless and had all of the basics that you’d need upon arrival (milk / coffee / sugar / juice etc as well as washing up liquid / tea towels / bath towels etc) Communication from the owners was the most proactive and helpful that I have had from any owners and was much appreciated (although having spent a week in amble for the last 2 years we didn’t need to call upon them). There is also a very useful folder with details of the WiFi etc and a box full of leaflets for things to do in the area. Amble is the best base we have used for Northumberland - you seem to be able to get anywhere quickly and without issue. The only niggle was the noise outside - it wasn’t bad at all - but on 2 consecutive mornings I was woken by the bin / refuse wagon (to be fair I did have the window open). Really handy to have a grassy area right next to the house for the early morning / late night dog walk (but if going in winter months please take a torch !) Loved it and I would definitely recommend it.

Thank you for a wonderful stay in cosy Koru. It’s been the perfect place to come back to after busy days exploring the area. We’ve enjoyed visits to Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle and a beautiful beach walk as the sun was setting over the castle. Highly recommend a visit to the very interesting and welcoming Grace Darling Museum. Delicious meal at The Potted Lobster and stocked up on food for the cottage at The Pantry and local butchers. Ended our trip with a visit to nearby Alnwick to see the beautiful autumn colours at the Alnwick Gardens – a visit to the cherry blossom orchard is a must! And lunch at the unique Treehouse restaurant. Spent our evenings cosy by the fire in the wonderfully comfy cottage. Looking forward to a return visit. Thank you.

The property is very clean and had everythung we needed inside.

It was warm and cosy The bed was very comfy and the shower iwas great. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Parking wasnt an issue as we didnt use the car a great deal and you canload/unload at the door. The only thing we missed was an outside space especially as the weather was so good. The yard isnt described as shared in the listing and we were worried about the dog being let out or weeing in the yard., so it meant we couldnt leave the kitchen door open.. Having a washing machine and dishwasher was a bonus though as i dont think they were in the description. Lots of great walks and things to do in the area and very close to the shops and places to eat/drink. A lovely house. We had a great week. Thank you.

A most wonderful return visit, thoroughly enjoyable. We were blessed with god weather and were able to enjoy some lovely walking once more. Our favourite was Low Newton to Craster and back. We tried some places that we had not visited for many, many years. Can recommend the The Hirsel Estate at Coldstream for easy, peaceful woodland strolls and a visit to the small Coldstream Guards Museum is worthwhile. Bonus this time was the sight of dolphins, close in at Seahouses. Koru was again a home from home. Stepping inside felt calming and we knew we were in for a wonderful time. It was as usual immaculate and has everything required. Thank you once again. The welcome pack is super after a long journey. We hope to be back soon.

We had a fantastically busy week in the bridge sunshine! The walks around the cottage are absolutely gorgeous – going to Allendale town was so picturesque! Flowery fields, a wooded path with pixie doors hidden in the trees, so many cute independent shops and a visit to the museum of Classic Sci-Fi. I’d highly recommend a day trip to The Lake District – we drove there, climbed and drove back all in time to watch a vibrant sunset across the valley! Even on the one day we stayed inside, drawing and reading sat in the windows of this place is like nothing else. A huge thank you for having us stay!
