What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Peter Hewlett - Verified booking

We arrived in pouring rain opened the key safe Ok, there were four keys which we had great trouble opening the rear door as keys had to be applied in a sequence. We could not get a phone signal but was able to make a call to your office from the local pub, Stackpole Inn. We received mixed messages some said the keys were in the silver safe box ? However a young guy arrived to open the door. He also showed us where to park which again was hidden from view from the property. The enclosed garden was behind a 6ft fence between various properties, you entered via a bolted door with no indication this was part of Chestnut cottage. The garden was not laid to lawn (rough grass) and there was no BBQ as stated on your website. The property was not securely gated at the rear entrance and dogs and young children could wander onto the road. We believe the cottage was overpriced for what it had to offer. The owner did buy us a drink via the Stackpole Inn due to the key entry problem.

The cottage exceeded what it looked like in the photos.

Very friendly hosts. Stunning area. Plenty to do and see. Superb for walking. Very dog friendly. Great facilities, managed to make home cooked meals without a problem. Lovely big fridge to keep fresh food for the whole week. Great to have a door between the kitchen and stairs to stop the dogs trying to go up. Also a great area behind the door to store things away from the dogs. Fully enclosed back garden for the dogs. Really nice area for them. Very clear rubbish instructions and good selection of leaflets and information about the area. Our personal preference would be a more comfy sofa we could snuggle in, but just personal preference and the time of year......it is impossible to cater for everyone’s tastes.

We loved the location, and the cottage was very spacious and clean.

the owners were very friendly and helpful. There are some beautiful coastal walks and scenery nearby. We particularly loved Ceibwr Bay (approx. 5 min drive). The nearby Neolithic Pentre Ifan burial chamber is worth a visit, and it’s also worth visiting another burial chamber, Llech y Drybedd, which is on the farm, and you can walk to from the cottage. Near to Pentre Ifan, there is one of the few remaining ancient woodlands in Wales called Ty Canol. It was beautiful in early May with all the bluebells in full flower. We would happily return.

Although the property is in a great location that for us is where the good stuff ended.

Nothing in the kitchen looked as you would expect in a holiday rental. It was all well used, didn't match and looked grubby. There were only wooden chopping boards a definite health hazard. The pictures on the site definitely do not reflect what is actually there. The bed has a crate under it holding it up and was quite uncomfortable as we're the sofa and chair in the living room. We found slug trails on my dogs food on 2 occasions and there was dog poo in the private garden, so a previous guest had not cleaned it up. We will sadly not be returning.

    • Mrs Bolter - Verified booking

This recently refurbished cottage was clean and well thought-out. The Smart TV was great to have. The property has a good outside space so that your dog is safe and it has a table and chairs to sit at, too. We didn't sit out, simply because the week we were staying turned out to be a cold and wet one! Very good location for Saundersfoot, Tenby, Pembroke Castle, Pendine Sands and the Museum of Land Speed. It was easy to get to Laugharne, where we enjoyed visiting Dylan Thomas's Boathouse.
