We found the property to be very tired and note the photographs were obviously taken some time ago!
The front bay window which looks onto the street, two of the pains of glass were badly marked or stained which obscured your view. All the windows throughout the property were very old, single and not double glazed, including the bedrooms, which didnât close properly, allowing the street noise at the front to come in. This meant, unfortunately, we were awakened most mornings around 5:30 am by speeding cars, lorries, buses, tractors etc as this is the main road. We are very careful when we book properties and we always read the reviews so we cannot believe that no one at all has commented on the traffic noise. We can only assume that people didnât sleep in the front bedroom because if they had Iâm quite sure they wouldâve commented. We did note that someone had mentioned the front bedroom window with the bunkbeds in had a broken latch and so the window would not close properly and the reply was that it would be repaired before the next visitors arrived. We were the next visitors, and this was still broken. Luckily we did not need this bedroom. On a positive note the property was very well equipped with everything you would need for a family or couple to cook or eat. We did find it odd that each bathroom only had one very small toilet roll. Bearing in mind this property could sleep nine people, one toilet roll in each toilet would not have been adequate. Surely a spare couldâ have been provided bearing in mind the cost of the property. Itâs small touches like this, plus hand soap in the kitchen, a small carton of milk for a cuppa on arrival and maybe a box of tissues that are important to us rather than a bottle of Prosecco and a couple of packets of biscuits and some popcorn in the welcome pack. Bearing in mind check out was 10am and check in was 4pm we have to wonder how long the cleaners were actually there as no windows were cleaned including the balcony glass which was actually green! This is the first time weâve booked through Sykes cottages and generally book through Airbnb or Country Cottages. Whether itâs Sykes cottages that deal with this or the owners weâre not sure, however we will have to consider carefully before booking through Sykes cottages again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ty Mawr, we were the first to log in under new ownership, and I must say it was an absolutely lovely experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. Ty Mawr itself was very spacious (I think the pictures donât do much justice) and newly refurbished, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, with tasteful furnishings, comfortable beds, and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The cleanliness was impeccable, and it was clear that the owners take great pride in maintaining their property. One of the highlights of our stay was the stunning location and easy access. The holiday home was nestled amidst breathtaking Pembrokeshire, offering picturesque views, close to most amazing beaches and lush towns . It was the perfect retreat for relaxation and reconnecting with nature. We enjoyed leisurely walks in the nearby trails and spent evenings savouring the peaceful ambiance on the patio. The owner, Matthew was incredibly friendly and accommodating. He went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable and stress-free. Their recommendations for local attractions were spot-on, and we discovered some hidden gems thanks to their guidance. Overall, our stay at Ty Mawr exceeded our expectations in every way. It was a true haven of tranquillity and provided the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I highly recommend this holiday home to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with a touch of luxury. We can't wait to return for another memorable stay in the future! Lovely place to stay.
Even though this is a working farm it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Lovely large comfortable beds and plenty of comfy seating to relax in. The property was tastefully furnished and was equipped with everything we could possibly need. The hot tub was an added bonus, even though it canât be used after 9pm, though a trellis would add a bit of extra privacy. The welcome pack of wine, delicious farm eggs and flowers was a lovely and much appreciated touch. There is plenty to do and see within short travelling distances, lots of lovely walks and superb beaches. This really is a lovely area of Wales for a holiday. Haverfordwest, which is just a short drive away from the property, has plenty of places to eat and we can thoroughly recommend the Bristol Trader. We were a party of 6 and can honestly say their Sunday lunch was the best meal we have ever eaten, though booking is advisable. We had slight difficulties accessing the property initially as the information provided by Sykes was incorrect, so recommend contacting the owners in advance. Itâs also worth noting that one of the upstairs bedrooms is galleried and overlooks the main living area as this was something we hadnât realised from the description. Overall we had a fantastic stay and wouldnât hesitate to recommend this property.

This was our 2nd year at Pickleridge.
..and we have booked again for next summer It offers ideal accommodation for a 4!generation family with x3dogs !The ground floor bedroom is ideal for great grandma who cannot manage the stairs The kitchen was well equipped for all our culinary needs We love food We loved the large dining table that could easily fit x8 persons for lively family dinners and breakfasts The large flat garden was ideal and safe for young children and dogs to play in The views across the estuary were beautiful from the front of the house ...and there was an ideal walk for children and dogs before breakfast across the road The charming harbour of Dale was only a short walk away with its water sports and cafe/restaurants X2 A short drive took us to Little Haven and Broadhaven where the grandkids spent many hours in the sea on their surf boards Yes ...Pickleridge is in an location for family activities and an ideal property for a large family to unwind and totally relax and enjoy their time together Roll on next summer when we will all be back together again

Upon arrival things looked promising, however when we entered the property one of us slipped as the floor was wet.
We did not know this because there were no signs to warn us. In the kitchen both of the sliding doors were stiff and then we couldn't lock them, when the hot tub man arrived we asked him for some help and he sorted it. There was a pile of dog hair next to the sofa in the kitchen we shouldn't of had to pick this up. We couldn't use the toaster as it didn't look in a safe condition to use and the top right oven wasn't working so we had to make do with just the one oven. We had to clean the drawers in two of the bedrooms before we could use them (one of the twin rooms and the bedroom near the games room) The mattress in this bedroom was also uncomfortable as it dips both sides, there was also brown stains on the carpet which didn't look very nice. We found socks under and behind the radiators these were not ours. We did however enjoy the games rooms which was used everyday, the only thing is that the pool table needs to be recovered.
