What our customers say about their holidays

    • Karen - Verified booking

The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable and the owner was helpful putting things right as necessary.

What let the cottage down was the basics not being available. No hand wash in the kitchen, the tiniest amount of washing up liquid, not one dishwasher tablet, no fire starter pack, one solitary toilet roll, the smallest welcome pack we have ever experienced, 2 tea bags, 2 instant coffee sachets, pint milk - welsh cakes were appreciated though, no spare bin bags, resolved, no hot tub towels, resolved, no washing line or clothes maiden, resolved. We don't expect all inclusive and we bring provisions it did feel that the basics were skimped on. The lack of a visitors book was a real shame, as they can be so helpful with previous visitors recommendations. There is an information pack however it is out of date. We went to a market detailed in there to find is ceased trading a year ago and the farm shop has very little there not worth the drive. Some of the places recommended are a long way from the cottage. As previous visitors have mentioned, the bathroom can become smelly at times, the lack of net curtains in the bedroom creates a lack of privacy. The hot tub recommended temperature of 34 degrees creates a luke warm tub and is nowhere near hot enough. We have rented several properties with hot tubs and have never encountered this. It should be declared on the listing, I would not book a cottage that insisted on this. Again, this felt like a cost cutting exercise. Overall, an absolutely lovely property and the owner was helpful. We had a lovely time staying there, just needs a bit more attention to visitors' needs.

We had a lovely fortnight in Driftwood Cottage. We chose it mainly for the enclosed garden for our dog, which was perfect and very tranquil. We enjoyed watching all the birds and the squirrel come to the feeder. The cottage is built on a hillside and has an interesting layout, with just a few steps between the 'top floor' (at road level) where there are 2 bedrooms, and the kitchen, lounge and third bedroom which are at garden level. Access is available from the front door at road level or via a steep path to the side door which takes you in by the kitchen. It might be tricky for anyone with a disability though. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and the shower was ok - the bath was great! Chairs and sofa were also comfortable and the TV was a decent size but TV reception was a bit flakey. Some of the roads leading to Little Haven are narrow (single track with passing places on some routes) so not for the nervous! We did lots of coastal path walking straight from the door though, so you don't need to drive much once you get here if you don't want to!

Very good standard property and very clean and tidy. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils. All modern facilities in this modernised conversion but the property still retains 'cottage character'. Internet is very sporadic. I found best connection is in the kitchen area right by the router despite there being a booster in the living room area. Internet falls in and out. Mobile phone signal not a problem. Ample parking in private enclosed drive area. A lot of road noise is the only negative about this property (Love Cottage) and speaking to guests in adjoining cottages they didn't have this problem at all. This is only an issue because our cottage was the only one adjacent to the very busy main A477 road and the bedroom is road side too. Ear plugs are provided although we didn't utilise them as I am not a good sleeper anyway and my wife is!!! Very friendly owner who ensures the properties are meticulously clean as she cleans them herself. Well recommended. I would definitely return.

Driftwood cottage was in a perfect location for us; a very short distance to the beach but slightly away & therefore very peaceful. The property was really welcoming, a bit quirky, surprisingly spacious, clean, well stocked & the garden was secure & private for us & our dog. The 3 bedrooms suited our party perfectly (myself & husband in the double, our early 20’s daughter in the single & our 19 year old daughter & her close friend the same age in the twin room). This is our favourite of all the holiday cottages we have stayed in, in Little haven over the past 20 years. The owner was really helpful ( we had his contact number) & when we come back to Little Haven again (which we will be doing) we intend to stay in Driftwood Cottage again. All of us had a fabulous week with stunning weather, made even better thanks to the cottage itself. Please pass on our comments to the owner!

    • Mr Green - Verified booking

This cottage was an excellent stay, during winter months, and very solid and warm and cosy. The owner is a lovely friendly lady, who was more than happy to met and greet, and discuss any issues. The only issues I had, was that the main fire alarm is mounted way up into a high ceiling, and I was worried about what if it sounds?! Thankfully, it did not, and although there was no washing dryer together with the washing machine, everything you could want was provided and that included a fantastic log burner that was easy to use, and very warm and efficient. This cottage is next to the A477 but there was little traffic noise to concern me, and the site was private and secure. The 1/4 mile long gravel track linking the site to the main road, was a little dark at night, but no concern. All in all, a fantastic stay I recommend!! Watch out for beautiful Barn Owls!
