What our customers say about their holidays

    • Amanda - Verified booking

First time to Lyme Regis , what a gem!

Excellent location for popping in and out during variable weather!. So much to explore. We left the car in the long stay Holmbush car park for the entire 5 nights stay. Very good bathroom, the best . Pleasant styling throughout. Kitchen would benefit from having a long shelf above sink area, to put things whilst preparing food etc. Didn't try the Nespresso machine as pods provided not compatible, shame . Marked down on cleanliness as some of the crockery not clean, obvious dried egg etc. but we found the dishwasher to work very well . More teaspoons and knives, dessert spoons.would have been useful. The TV only had limited channels available on free view even with a retune and the internet channels took a while to set up for the new? router pass code. This was useful to view some of the missing freeview channels Beautiful view from top terrace, sadly only one afternoon good enough to sit out . A shrub on way up somewhat overgrown . Nice goodies left , thank you , we really enjoyed our stay.

The property was in a good location with a good parking space. It was nice to have outside space but I don't like plastic grass. The interior was dated and a bit cluttered. The kitchen cupboards were full of unnecessary things. The shower drips constantly and the cold tap on the bath was very hard to turn on and off. The bed was not good quality and the pillows very poor. I couldn't wait to get home and sleep in a quality bed. The toilet was dirty when I arrived. I felt the property needed less bits n bobs but better quality basics. A cleaner more simple look. Definitely needs some modernisation. Having carpet in a kitchen is something I haven't seen since the 70s. It can't be hygienic. I was woken up every morning by the TV on high volume in the flat below. There was no soundproofing.

We had a lovely stay, and the house was great.

Very narrow street - we just about managed it in our mercedes with about ½ inch either side! No issues with the stay itself, but we were informed after leaving that there was a stain on the carpet in one of the bedrooms. I am 100% adamant that we did not cause this stain, and , as the onus should be on the homeowner to prove that we did, I asked for date and time stamped photos of before and after our stay. Not only were none forthcoming, but my request was not even acknowledged. Instead, money was taken from my card with no further correspondance. I have no issue with paying for any damage we have caused, but in this instance I know we did not. Very disappointing, and left us in a bit of a financial trouble.

Really enjoyed our stay at Kipper Lodge.

The beds were very comfortable (which is rare to find). Loved the living room aspect and view. The kitchen was just fine although people really need to learn not to use metal on Teflon pans as they get scratched up and that causes the release of plastic particulate. The bathrooms were clean and great. The location was good. Loved the log burner. Agree with previous comments on the flies. Must be the time of year. The cleaners need to clean under the beds, coffee table and sofas. And they need to focus on dusting. They need performance payment where they are paid in accordance to what they clean. This comment has no reflection on the owner as this service is out of their control.

Lovely little property and would definitely stay again.

I did have massive trouble opening the front door. The bottom lock was fine but I fiddled about with the top half of the door for about half and hour before I got it to open. After that I only locked the bottom section. If there's a knack to it, I'd like to know next time! I also thought the towels were quite small for a bathroom. Fine for me, but maybe not for a bigger person. I also didn't realise there would be any kind of welcome pack as it wasn't mentioned in the property details. It was very useful but most properties do seem to list what they put in it, which would be handy. Very well equipped and the upper terrace with the view was lovely. Really enjoyed my stay - thank you.
