I'd give Norfolk Hideaways and Claire (the owner of the property) 6 stars if I could! This was our second time in as many years and we are just about to book in the next few weeks for our third hopefully (please!). This property is one of the most outstanding properties that we have ever stayed in - and we have stayed in quite a few with being largely UK holiday makers. A stones throw from the fantastic Crab Cafe with the fantastic Kelly and crew who have watched our two boys grow up over the decades that we visited twice this year. The food as ever did not disappoint. This time we even went with a 'plus one' as our children have reached that next chapter of their lives. The Globe, 'Bang', Nelsons and French's fish and chip shop also sorted us for food for most of the week and again all only a short walk away from the property - no designated driver required ever. A fantastic week of weather also added to the many positives, wall to wall sunshine every day. Days at Sandringham (easily drivable), Holkham and Wells Beach just lovely as a result. Lovely couple of hours spent walking with Alpaca's too and also visited an escape room in Fakenham which was superb - a first for me! For those nights with no restaurants/ food booked, the local coop and Nisa supermarket well catered for our needs, again all within walking distance from the property. Lovely deli's and loads of ice cream options too. The shops on Staithe Street are a full afternoons activity and Arthur Howell's bakery, butcher and deli have many things to tickle your fancy - their sausage rolls and cakes are superb. Burgers at their butchers outlet are pretty amazing too. Lovely new bakery opened too that we weren't aware of last year that also serves the best sausagae rolls, with a Moroccan one that really took our fancy. The house has everything you need and more. Parking is superb. As a five now we took two cars and could easily have fitted another one in. The garden is sublime and for us 'oldies' was always our little oasis to read a good book, grab a tea or coffee, or in the evening a Prosecco or some sort of tipple and listen to music. The kitchen was amazing with everything you need and a rather impressive oven/ halogen hob and American style fridge freezer. We noticed that their attention to detail this year even included replacement windows , which have safety catches if you have littlies, so attention to safety first class! The welcome hamper from Claire, with a lovely postcard to us was the perfect welcome and the contents were very much welcomed from very hungry 'boys' which meant the contents didn't last long! Lovely salted caramel cookies! It is situated right next to open fields so you wake up to swishing horses tails from one bedroom, being 'horsey' as a child I was in my happy place. The garden is not overlooked and so private, on two tiers so you can sit and watch the sunset over the pine forest, which are quite simply superb. Flowers in the garden are also beautiful. Thank you Claire for the love and attention you have given to this adorable house and letting us share it for a week. We look forward to returning next year. Thank you Norfolk Hideaways too for your care and attention. We have been booking holidays with you for many years now and you never disappoint. We'll be back!

Everyone (middle-aged parents, young adult "children") loved the Old Post Office, with its private walled garden for breakfast, lunch and dinner al fresco, spacious living rooms, multiple hotel quality bathrooms and super comfortable beds. Perfect location in the quiet High Street so you can walk everywhere, convenient parking space for one car - perhaps we were just lucky but had no problem parking second car on Buttlands. Initially we were a little terrified by the sparkling white marble surfaces and German coffee machine (just couldn't make that one work) but found kitchen very well-equipped - we played hunt-the-freezer for a couple days but there is one in the utility room next to the sink. High quality fixtures and fittings, dishwasher/washer/dryer, everything you could need. The Co-op opposite the church means you don't even really need to make trip to Morrisons in Fakenham. Actually Frary's stall five minutes' stroll away on the quay means you don't even really need to make the trip to the Co-op, just live off lobster and French's chips for the week. We'd go back in a heartbeat - lovely place to stay.

From the moment we stepped inside Goldfinch Cottage we felt we had arrived in a place where we would be able to relax and find lots of peace and quiet away from the normal hustle and bustle of life. Debbie had very thoughtfully left a homemade cake and posh shortbread biscuits for us, which was a very thoughtful gesture that was much appreciated. We stayed in the cottage for ten days and found tranquility as well as plenty of opportunity for exercise - and all of this without having to drive anywhere! Walking from the cottage into the village and joining the nearby coastal path walkways was an almost daily routine and the circular walk provides options for varying both route and distance. This cottage is well equipped with quality fittings and furnishings throughout and with an orthopaedic grade double bed mattress too. The floors are wooden and the entire interior is based upon white décor with a minimalist modern style. This all adds to the ambience and 'feel' of the place and we were extremely comfortable. Goldfinch cottage is a lovely place to stay and we would be very glad to return there in the future.

Calm, classy and comfortable. Having spotted Oyster Cottage a while ago I was lucky enough to get a week at the end of July. The property is just lovely and tastefully decorated. It's not only the look but the comfort and facilities were also excellent. Although small one didn't feel cramped, the living room is a good size with Ercol style chairs and a sofa - all good to sit in and not lumpy or sloppy. The kitchen had all the equipment one needs (including a dishwasher). The beds were very comfortable with cotton linen. The walk in rainfall shower had good pressure and there was plenty of hot water. Jolly Sailor yard is an ideal location as it's two minutes from the quay and very close to the main street and it's quiet - avoiding the crowds. We had no trouble parking. Be aware that the stairs are steep but I managed despite having had a knee replacement recently. The wifi isn't great either but I've found that to be the case in Wells so no fault of the cottage. All in all it's just super.

My husband and I have stayed at Oyster Cottage, Wells-next-the-sea twice now: once in 2019 and recently in October 2021.We think it is an utterly charming cottage: very cosy and comfortable. The rooms are smaller than what we are used to - we live in a large rambling old house - but are very cosy and well decorated. The staircase is quite steep and narrow, but care has been taken to ensure as much safety as possible so were not really a problem to us (in our late eighties and seventies and slightly "frayed around the edges"). It is sufficiently well-equipped to enable in-house eating, which we did most of the time with little effort. The location is very good: away from the main town area, so very quiet, but close enough for a quick stroll to its heart, and the marshes as well. We have always managed to park close by, which is an added bonus. All in all, a lovely place to "come home to" at the end of the day and we certainly intend to come again
