What our customers say about their holidays

    • J, J, B & L - Verified booking

Field Lodge is a very comfortable holiday home; well-styled, well-equipped (although broom, pan and brush would be helpful). The bedding, kitchenware and glassware were all fantastic. In terms of things to do, we visited; Hunstanton – had a wonderful walk along the prom and listened to the brass band in the park. Sandringham – which was a delightful home with a beautiful garden. Felbrigg Hall – superb gothic 14th century hall and stunning walled garden. Wells-next-the-Sea – took the narrow-gauge train to Walsingham. Holkham Hall – elegant Palladian style and stunning entrance with marble columns. All Saints at Burnham Thorpe with flag from HMS Victory hanging in the nave. Nelson was baptised at All Saints. In terms of fine dining, we ate at Acre at The White House and also had a very pleasant dinner at The Hoste. I hope future visitors find this feedback useful. All together it added up to a fantastic week in excellent accommodation.

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight at the cricket pavilion, the location is surrounded by natural beauty and lots of horses, (not quite secure if your dog is curious so something to bare in mind). It’s a lovely spot to stop off at during a visit of the Norfolk coast. The bed was super comfy, everywhere presented perfectly and nice and clean, plus loved all the small touches to make it feel really homey. We briefly had a problem with the hot water on the shower and help was sent over straight away so couldn’t be happier with the response time. Our host was extremely helpful with recommending a local walk too, off the beaten track with stunning views which our dog adored! Didn’t get to use the hot tub as takes some time to heat up and we’d arrived just after 6pm so recommend getting there earlier to start the fire! All in all a wonderful time in a wonderful location! Big thank you to Ollie and Kirsty!

We stayed in South Lodge East last year and had such a wonderful time that we couldn’t wait to come back. The estate is as amazing as we remembered but Palmers Lodge was a big disappointment. The downstairs of the property was cold and damp in spite of putting the heating on. The bathrooms were grubby and cold. There were spiders and bugs everywhere. Our clothing smelled of damp. We were basically very uncomfortable -even the bed seemed damp. The welcome pack would have been more useful if it included a small loaf of bread and a pint of milk. I expected much more comfort from this property and I do not think it is good value for money.

If you need peace and quiet Palmers Lodge is perfect, just deer, pheasants and rabbits for company. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay with great walks along the beach from Wells to Holkam. Our stay was in early March so still a nip in the air but on returning to the Lodge and the wood burner roaring away you couldn't ask for more. Lovely welcoming bag with lots of local produce and a bottle of Prosecco and two glasses waiting on the coffee table. Downstairs is an unusual subterranean set up but it works well and there is plenty of natural light via the glass roof above the hall section.

Lodge and location are great. Lodge is very comfortable and the views off the decking were very nice. The lodge has everything that you need for a comfortable stay.10-minute walk into Burnham Market. Burnham Market is lovely with plenty of shopping/ cafe’s etc. All other sites in North Norfolk are easily accessible from here if you have a car. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there.Only minor issue is that the park site itself was very quiet with quite a few vacant pitches and only 3 or 4 occupied lodges during our stay so it was very quiet. Some might find it too quiet?

    Things to do near Holkham

    • Landmark Landmark
    • Natural Landmark Natural Landmark
    • Activity Activity
    Holkham Hall
Holkham Hall is a magnificent Palladian Mansion in North Norfolk. Spend a whole day here admiring the Hall, the walled garden and the beautiful grounds.

    Hunstanton Heritage Gardens

Overlooking the only stretch of the eastern coast facing west, the Hunstanton Heritage Gardens is a public open space. Views across the Wash are spectacular at sunset. Hunstanton's only significant open space covers approximately 6.8 hectares. A Victorian promenade garden with formally laid out annual beds, the Esplanade Gardens remain remarkably unchanged since they were built. The Green, Hunstanton, Norfolk, PE36 6BQ

    Wells-next-the-Sea Beach

Wells Beach is easily one of Norfolk's finest. The sand goes on for miles and miles and hundreds of quirky colourful beach huts on stilts, run along the pine forest wall and back dunes. You can access the beach via the nearby carpark or it's a short walk or miniature rail ride from town along the East Fleet river.

    Old Hunstanton

Old Hunstanton is a small village adjacent to Hunstanton, a major seaside resort. Unlike its busy sibling, Old Hunstanton retains its quiet character, it has a clifftop walk along the stripped cliffs where you will pass Old Hunstanton Lighthouse and ruins of St Edmund's Chapel. A stunning 40-mile stretch of Norfolk coast path starts near Old Hunstanton. The large sandy beach has sand dunes and is popular with kite surfers and families alike. The Old Town Beach Cafe on the beach serves up delicious food and drinks and is dog friendly.

    SEA LIFE Hunstanton

On the South Promenade in Hunstanton is the SEA LIFE sanctuary and aquarium. It's a popular family attraction that also houses Norfolk's Seal Rescue Center and Hospital. Because of the large population of Common Seals and Grey Seals along this stretch of the North Norfolk coast, the seal hospital cares for injured and vulnerable seals and seal pups until they can be released back into the wild. As well as the penguin beach, you can see insects and creepy crawlies at Rainforest Ranger basecamp, then walk through the ocean tunnel and see a huge variety of sea creatures. It is mostly wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly. Toilets and a cafe.

    Snettisham Park Deer Safari

Experience the thrill of getting up close and personal with magnificent deer on the Snettisham Park Deer Safari. Take a guided tour of the park and learn about these graceful creatures from knowledgeable experts. With stunning views and the opportunity to hand-feed the deer, this is a must-visit attraction for animal lovers. Address: Bircham Rd, Snettisham, Norfolk, PE31 7NG
