What our customers say about their holidays

    • Tracey - Verified booking

We stayed at 1 The Dell for a week in September.

The chalet was clean and the kitchen was well equipped - apart from the lack of any oven gloves. The tea towels supplied were very thin meaning it was impossible to get anything out of the oven without getting burnt. The fridge freezer was a good size and efficient. Nice dining table with comfy chairs. The living room was a good size but the sofa was awful. It was L shaped and although the seats were reasonably comfortable, the back was awful. It was very low, giving no support above the shoulders and the cushions were dreadful. We added pillows from the beds for extra comfort. It is also quite small - there were only 3 adults in our party and we feel if there had been four of us we would not have been able to fit on the sofa. There was another chair but this was horrible - uncomfortable and the legs were so wobbly we didn't risk sitting in it. The bathroom had a constant smell in it and the shower was awful. Absolutely no power and the shower head looked like it had never been cleaned or de-scaled. The bedrooms were very small but ok. Furniture was fine and our adult daughter was quite happy in the twin room. This may not have been the case if there were two adults in there though as it was tiny. The double bed was not great - a hard wooden frame made it uncomfortable to sit up in and the bottom of the bed has wooden ends that stick up. There is very little space to get round the bottom of the bed and we had only been in the chalet 10 minutes when my husband hit his knee on it causing bleeding and swelling - not a great start! The mattress was ok but not the best - we kept rolling into the middle. So there were negatives which would probably prevent us going there again, but it could be so nice if these were addressed. The decor of the chalet was lovely - we liked the beach theme. The location is perfect, Mundesley is a lovely village and to be so close to the beach was great. We did enjoy our holiday but the bed, shower and sofa definitely need addressing.

      Absolutely wonderful campsite.

The staff are so lovely and cannot do enough, they have been so welcoming from before we even got here! The cabin is brilliant, very clever layout for lots in such a small space. The beds and sofa are very comfortable, and good quality bedding is included. Be warned if you have a small toddler that likes to touch everything (like ours) the microwave/oven, kettle, cutlery draw are all within easy reach and can be turned on very easily by them. Don't go mad with shopping as not a huge amount of place to store, but there is a decent size fridge with a little freezer box at the top. You wouldn't be able to cook large meals, but we've done well with pre cooked pasta, ready meals and tinned stuff in the microwave and hob. We tried the local fish and chip shop a couple of times and that was really tasty, we used the corner shop for essentials/snacks and just drove to the sainsburys in Attleborough for more specific things. Lovely little day out to the zoo next door and it's great to hear the zoo animals at night. The onsite Park is probably more suited to slightly older children, my 4year old was just a little too small, and my toddler wasn't able to do very much, but they just love running around the grass anyway! We drove to the little park in Attleborough one day which is a nice little play area for them both. If you come in winter time like us, make sure you have wellies, it gets very muddy everywhere!! We loved it so much, we managed to extend our week by a few more days, and the park team couldn't have been more helpful with this!

The Chalet was in a good position for beach, a pub n fish n chips.

.good parking and did have fairly good kitchen n cook facilities. However, it is the smallest accommodation we stayed with Sykes for 4 adults. Double bedroom was small as was the twin… fortunately all of us are not rotund people n just about able to get round the furniture. Little room for storage so we pushed all luggage under beds. Dining table position in limited space meant the bathroom access always blocked when all 4 seats used. Inadequate sets of cutlery for 4 persons especially when one set in the dishwasher.. we had to handwashing too. We would rather pay to have more space n an extra toilet because someone is always desperate for the toilet when the only one is occupied…

This chalet is a nice base, great location for the village and walks around the area and coast.

We found the chalet has limited sockets and when we moved the double bed to get to the sockets behind it we found mould spores. We had to clean the bathroom when we arrived. There was no bottle opener. The DAB radio in the kitchen did not work. There is no shaver socket. We noticed lots of cobwebs behind the blinds and when we moved the tray on top of the fridge a large spider appeared and went under the fridge. When we moved the bin in the kitchen to empty it there was a spider hiding behind it. Other than this we found dog biscuits, cake, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, vinegar and the village has a nice beach cafe and two chippies. Can recommend.

Fantastic place to stay, everything we needed.

Small and compact but we knew that and with three adults it was just fine. Everything was spotlessly clean and we had all we needed to make this a very enjoyable place to stay. Despite the weather which was pretty bad we still managed to walk over 40 miles and when we got back we could get everything dry and ready to go again the next day. Banham Zoo was right next door and well worth the visit. The only difficulty was with the WiFi while on site but as soon as we got to the car mobile data picked up so getting directions was never a problem and we always take maps anyway. If you were reliant on WiFi you might struggle, thankfully we're not.
