What our customers say about their holidays

    • Heather - Verified booking

Positive .. good heating, very comfortable queen bed Negative 1

. Cooker door does not close so unable to use. Impacted our holiday as my husband is disabled and unable to eat out. This is despite owner getting feedback about this on 13th September. This should have been rectified. 2. The shower over the bath leaks flooding the floor near the toilet making it a real hazard for the elderly or disabled. Again this impacted on our holiday as we were only able to use the ensuite is small for a disabled person. After the cleaners arrive a day early a plumber was called but said he could not rectify the situation. This happened late morning the day before we were due to leave! Had we been aware of these 2 problems we would not have booked this property and are left feeling disappointed. We wonder if Sykes monitor the state of their rental properties because although this property looks good on line it's a tired and is definitely needs refurbishment.

The house is in need of some TLC. Some things needed attention which would raise the lower scores we've given for cleanliness and standard of equipment. We had great difficulty using the front and door locks. We had to lubricate them with WD 40. Several window locks were difficult to open or lock closed. Several of the window units were "blown" causing condensation . The conservatory windows and doors were unopenable, meaning that on warm days it was unusable. Minor repairs are needed eg the toilet roll holder in the en suite was loose and unusable and the blind in the upstairs shower room was "tatty" and the stove top was dirty and the fan oven didnt work. (Usable as an ordinary oven). We make these observations to be constructive, not simply to moan. This property has a lot going for it and could be a really excellent holiday base with a little simple and unexpensive attention.

Great stay at Owlets. Probably one of the best holiday lets we have stayed in. The close proximity to Heacham Manor Hotel made up for the one mile walk to the nearest shops and pubs. The walk to the beach took 15 minutes across the Golf Course and a further 10 minutes to the promenade. In fact we walked the whole way to Old Hunstanton and a wonderful sandy beach with dunes. Took the little train back to Hunstanton and the bus which stopped right opposite Owlets. Owlets with its modern well equipped open plan kitchen and living area was a perfect space to keep an eye on our Grandkids and the stair gate a sensible place. The little back yard with parasol, seating and BBQ became a nice winding down haven. Parking for two cars right outside the back door away from the road also meant we had no worries getting the kids in and out safely. Great stay good attentive owners.

Wonderful, large house in a beautiful location with seaviews. The garden is an amazing size with plenty of covered outdoor seating enough for more than the 6 adults our party consisted of. The house was well equipped, clean & comfortable. Frequent bus services stopped close by. I've been holidaying in Hunstanton for 50 years, firstly as a child with my mum & dad and then as an adult with my own children. Now adults themselves, they wanted to bring their partners to see this beautiful part of North Norfolk and this house did not disappoint - it was the perfect sized accommodation to comfortably house us all. The conservatory was an added bonus with its 3 sofas. All in all, a perfect house for our family group of 6 adults. Original Cottages was also brilliant, with great & plentiful communications throughout.

This property is fabulously located - it's in a quiet location but a short walk away will take you to the resort part of Hunstanton, with shops, amusements etc. The house has the added advantage of a lovely conservatory and a long garden so there's a place to chill out whatever the weather. The kitchen is very well equipped and well laid out. A real bonus is the large parking area in front of the house - really useful as it would be expensive to park in the cliff top car park, very near the house. . The nearest pub is a 10 minute walk across the cliff top car park and serves lovely food. All in all, this house offers everything you'd need.
