The holiday cottage itself was lovely, big, well equipped and with a great enclosed garden.
However, it wasnât particularly clean and two of the loo seats were loose, there was mould in the shower grouting and the sheets were stained, as were the towels. The initial view of the outside was alarming as the property sits behind a derelict pub and the front looks generally uncared for. Our main issue was the lack of welcome and hospitality by the owner, Debbie. We got off on the wrong foot I think because when we arrived we nipped out to get shopping and stock up for the week leaving our dogs behind - they are extremely well behaved and we bring our own camera to monitor them. I admit that I completely neglected to check that Debbie would be okay with this because I holiday several times a year in dog-friendly properties and have never had an issue before. We were gone for 2 hrs and 30 mins - the camera footage can verify and the dogs barked once when people were present on the driveway. We came back to be handed a screen shot of the property rules stating that dogs should not be left in the property by Debbieâs sister but no other conversation. I immediate text Debbie apologising for not checking and assuring her that I would respect her rules going forward - she responded 24 hrs later saying that it was distressing to hear the dogs bark âall dayâ - absolutely NOT our dogs. Debbie also told us that she had âfamilyâ staying in her âlaundry roomâ - a one bedroom dwelling just 20 feet from the door of the bungalow. Her âfamilyâ consisted of several people, who slept in the laundry room and also in a van on the driveway. They would bang the doors to the van as they went back and forth until quite late into the night (past 11pm) which woke our small children up on several occasions. We found menâs underwear in one of the bedrooms and pyjamas and a wallet in another bedroom with a driving licence in that seemed to match the identity of one of Debbieâs âfamilyâ members, (Photos available) and post and deliveries were made to the bungalow whilst we were there. When I told Debbie about the left belongings via text, I received no response at all. There was no cleaning equipment at the property either - we like to at least hoover at some point during the week - although Debbie did lend us her hoover on request. All in all, we felt generally unwelcome and it was a relief to leave at the end of the week

We have just returned from a week at rafters cottage.
I must admit I'm glad to be back in my own house. Myself, my fiance and our 4 year old stayed in the end bedroom. The first night was horrendous... we spent the first part removing all the giant spiders from the house. By the time we went to bed we'd realised the room had a terrible mold issue: black mould growing up the walls, beside the bed and the mattresses (which belonged in the 90's) were also covered in mold. We got no sleep and my chest got bad. I felt so angry that our 4 year old had to sleep on a moldy mattress in a moldy room. The owners did change the mattresses and wiped down the mold, and they refunded us £100. Unfortunately all this happened after a not-too-pleasant discussion with one of the owners who told us our standards were too high and we should just drive home immediately if we didn't like the cottage! Nice. After the mold issue we had an ok stay. The mold smell was in the cottage all week and there was more mold growing in the sitting room. The kids favourite game was to catch the numerous woodlice that shared the cottage with us. I get that it's an old property but I shan't be apologising for having 'standards' when we paid over a grand to stay there. The outside facilities were great, great location with the nature reserve. Obviously we wouldn't return.

I stayed two weeks, seeing elderly parents.
Mum poorly. I was born in Tenby and I now live away, so for me it was a base rather than holiday. However the area and the cottages are in a beautiful setting, my children, grandchildren, friends & their dogs joined me at the weekends, owner & staff couldnât be more accommodating, very friendly (Just like the Welsh, although I may be a tiny bit biased) Internet & WiFi a bit sketchy due to weather and location, but Owen the owner sorted it out with a phone call & once you know where the best reception is (Living room, bathroom & upstairs bedroom to be precise) it becomes the norm. Plenty of towels provided, logs supplied for log burner, the beds could do with new mattresses & duvets, not the most comfortable Iâm afraid and I found the pitch forks, guns & saws on the walls a bit difficult to get used too, not very cosy, sorry. My family & their friends werenât bothered, found it highly amusing, renamed the place âSaw Cottage â that said, we will definitely be booking again, they had a great time despite the pitch forks, uncomfortable beds & slightly dated decor. Otherwise itâs a lovely place to stay, pet and family friendly. My granddaughter loved the play area and the Llamas, itâs a great base to explore the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast & countryside.

We rented out Rafters Cottage as two families , we were very impressed with the cottage and site .
The cottage had everything we needed , it was clean and comfortable, we did find the beds a little uncomfortable with the matresses but this wouldnt put us off another holiday there . Rosemary and Gareth were friendly and very helpful, our first afternoon we complained about bedroom light in childrens room , Gareth came asap to fix it. The facialities were great and really suited our 8,7&4 year olds. I loved the small touches in swimming pool with armbands, noodles and balls to use in pool. One thing would improve pool a toilet but its not a major problem . The children loved the new wendy house, climbing wall and slides it was a bonus as not advertised at booking time. The games room was great and used lots by us , we enjoyed the fact we were next door to the country park too. Will definatally return with our dog one year . Thankyou Rosemary and Gareth we loved our stay.

The state of the no.
7 West Haven was not good as we enter there was a smell of cat wee and had to buy some air fresheners.. Plus the state of the main bedroom was not very good . There was mould in the toilet seat the corner of the room just above the window so as my wifie is asthmatic she could not sleep in there. The toilet seat is wooden and the paint is coming off which is a health hazard plus there green on the copper pipes. All together the bathroom need upgrading. Next there was no instruction on recycling when to put the food bin out so I left it. I text the owner what I had done at the end of the day I will not be returning there again . I have images of the state of the place.
