What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mario - Verified booking

Recently returned from chi am mor .

property was as advertised in a fabulous location , with short walks / drives to many beautiful beaches , which is exactly what we wanted . House was clean and tidy on arrival , it was well equipped with most utensils and there was some lovely little extras like . nice loaf of fresh bread , some milk , lovely scones , jam and clotted cream which was all yummy , and a couple of treats for our little dog . there was also a bottle of washing up liquid which was all well received.( thank you very much) The master bed which was 2 beds zipped together was very comfortable and quite spacious ( we both slept like a log ) . overall we had a lovely stay in a house which was in a fabulous location . There was a few minor negatives , which we would not want , to put anybody off booking this property . there was no hammock in garden , which we would not have used so did not bother us and there was no barbeque which we would have used but to be honest was no inconvenience . but would advise this is pointed out to other potential renters . The wood burning hot tub was nice , but needed too much baby sitting and attention on this point and this point only we would probable not return , as we prefer a convectional hot tub , ( as with a hot tub . you would return from a nice day out , put some bathers on and just have to jump in and relax , with a glass of wine ) . instead of having to light a fire and wait for a couple of hours . We would like to finish on a high as the property is very nice and in a stunning location , the couple of minor negatives in no way spoilt our holiday we still had a ball .

Chi An Mor is a beautiful bungalow with great views over Porth Beach .

We had a great week , The hot tub is useless , we tried to light it twice but gave up in the end which was disappointing as I booked this rental because it had a hot tub . Garden is nice and spacious for dogs to run around although it is overlooked from neighbours at the back and we did feel a little on show . Garden chair covers could do with a wash . Didn’t use the BBQ as no table in the garden to eat at . The Bungalow could do with blinds up in the kitchen and the garden room as when you are sat on sofa people can see straight in to the sitting room . Chi An Mor would benefit from more seats in the sitting room as there is a huge space unused . We thought that it could have been cleaner too ! Cobwebs in the bathroom , sofa not vacuumed (dogs hairs all under cushions )dust underneath sofa . Back Door needs a good wash and so do all the window frames and Patio Door frames . The welcome pack for our dogs was much appreciated (toys and treats) The human welcome pack of scones , Jam & Cream and a loaf of bread was a lovely thought ,a pint of milk would have made it just perfect . We didn’t use the oven only the hob which was great . Plenty of utensils but could do with extra cups plates and cutlery as we were forever washing them up . There is a washing line in the garden but only 3 pegs . A hose pipe which was great for cleaning our doggies . Shower was great and lovely soft towels . The few things I’ve mentioned did not spoil our holiday .. we had a great time . Thank you Chi An Mor for the memories .

      Wow! What a beautiful place!

We stayed here in October 2019 and loved every second. Upon first arriving, we were greeted with fresh bread and scones with jam and clotted cream and even a bottle of milk! There were treats for our doggy too. Beautifully decorated and very clean, beds are extremely comfy and has great facilities in both bathroom and kitchen/utility. A home from home! Had great fun in the garden on the hammock and loved the hot tub, very easy to use. Wood, kindle and firelighters are all supplied, checked on the fire for the hot tub every half hour and mixed the water around, took around 3 hours for hot tub to heat and very worth it! The log burner inside is also very cosy, heats the house up really well. Loved the games room, played ping pong and pool and there’s also a cupboard full of board games in utility. Great size tv and comfy sofa in living room and also has a fancy swinging chair. Clean towels and linen are all provided. Really cannot find anything to complain about at all. Very close to a nice beach and pub and all the shops in Newquay. The sea view from the garden is gorgeous. The owner, Ian, stayed in touch throughout the holiday and ensured everything was ok which was very nice of him. Will definitely be staying again, see you soon Chi An Mor!

      The house is amazing.

Everything that is shown and described online and more! The welcome pack was such a nice gesture. Fresh bread, milk, jam, clotted cream and scones aswell as the wood etc. Fresh white fluffy towels provided and all of the bed linen was fresh, clean, white and comfortable. Plenty cleaning equipment and a clothes maiden aswell as an iron and board. The bar and beach are so close. It has quite a steep hill which may prove difficult for some but we managed just fine and had our beach trolly with us too. We visited new beaches every day all of which were only a short drive and Newquay town centre isn’t far to drive and has plenty parking. It’s well equipped with everything you could need and had sugar, sweeteners, salt, pepper etc already there. The decor is beautiful with some amazing pieces of artwork by the property owner on display. I don’t have pets myself and even though the property allows pets there was no sign of them at all. It was absolutely spotless and did not smell of pets at all. I read the reviews about the hot tub and really don’t understand the issue. We had it lit every night with no problems at all. The views whilst sat in it are fantastic.

The Cider Pound is very clean, modern and well equipped. There is ample space and the accommodation is furnished very comfortably. We would recommend anyone to stay there. The cottage was a rare treat, nestled in beautiful countryside it was so relaxing and tranquil with an abundance of amazing wildlife. Gilbert, Carol, Aubrey and family were excellent hosts. They were always on hand if you needed them and nothing was too much trouble. We had some superb chats and was given sound advice on the area, eateries and places of interest. North Devon's marvellous beaches, picturesque villages and moors were in easy reach of the farm, although some country lanes could be quite narrow in places. It was a joy to return 'home' to The Cider Pound after a busy day sightseeing. Evenings could be spent soaking in the hot tub overlooking rolling hills, whilst the sun sets on glorious countryside, absolute heaven. Highly recommend a these stunning cottages. Stephen, Jackie and Toby (the dog)
