We absolutely loved our stay in this quaint village. The accommodation was pristine clean, the view wonderful, the owners accommodating and helpful, and the local areas stunning. The garden overlooks picturesque fields, several which are available and perfect for dog walks, whilst others give you a lovely view of cows grazing and general farm life. The garden itself is fenced, with metal fence mesh behind it to ensure your pooch won't take themselves on walkies without you. Inside you have all you need, with WiFi, Netflix, all your expected utilities, heating (and a log burner), a powerful shower and a good sized bath. An upstairs and a downstairs toilet also makes things a lot nicer for a family. The local pub is but a few minutes walk away and the people there are very friendly and offer good quality food. Tiverton is the closest town we used and is around a 20 minute drive, is a nice place to visit, and have a really nice view of the river running through it via a bridge and a walkway running next to it. After having several holidays in a row that were more hustle and bustle, this was literally and figuratively a breath of fresh air and has made us put Devon at the top of our list of holiday destinations next year! Highly recommended, and from the communication we've had with the owner, it is a place they genuinely want to pour their love and passion into.

When we arrived, our first view was of two large derelict barns, and this was our view from bedroom two.

The beds were terribly unclean, all eight pillows were heavy soiled, the bed quilt was also soiled as was the mattress protector, the mattress also was heavily stainedâ¦ Briony did respond to our text message, replacing 4 pillows with new, this was late afternoon, by then we had washed and dried, the bed quilt, mattress protector and the two pillows â¦ The bed framework had split away from the bed leg and gave way Wednesday night, we moved into the two single beds for the remainder of the nightâ¦ we decided to leave the property Thursday, as the disruption of a bed changeover would be two much for us. We did text Briony regarding the bed collapsing and she did respond in the afternoon, by that time, we was on our way home.. Your description of the property doesnât match what we saw, the photograph of some of the views did not exist. We would appreciate a refund of three days, because of losing a day washing, and two days not sleeping there. Ps. Your company did not inform us of the 300 yards approach to the property. The poorly maintained road, singletrack, not good! This is the first time we feel let down by yourselves, hence the low, scoring of 5. It is this particular property, we could not recommend.

Russell and Richard were the perfect hosts from start to finish. This was a trip that had been postponed from Christmas 2020 because of the pandemic so everyone was so looking forward to the break. Colleton Hall did not disappoint. Russell and Richard had gone to great lengths to ensure that the hall was decorated perfectly with a stunning Christmas tree taking centre stage. The hall it’s self was just the perfect setting with plenty of space for our party to enjoy. Being big foodies the the dining areas and kitchens where a big win for us and gave everyone a chance to get involved. Fully kitted out with everything you could possibly need. Perfection. We also enjoyed the spacious bedrooms and bathrooms again fitted out to a high specification with no detail missed from fluffy towels to crips bed sheets it’s safe to say everyone slept well. Colleton Hall is the gift that keeps giving, once you venture out to explore the grounds it’s surprise after surprise from woody walks to private picnic areas where we relaxed with a little tipple while out enjoying everything the beautiful grounds have to offer. We had the best time and can’t wait to visit Colleton Hall again.

We had an amazing time and could not recommend Colleton Hall enough.

We stayed at Colleton Hall in early May 2024 for a family member’s significant birthday and had three generations stay there. The hall is beautiful and has been lovingly-restored by its owners. It is a stunning building with loads of space for all the family. We enjoyed some very good weather and so were able to explore the beautiful grounds, including the lake and some woods. Our children loved feeding the ducks every morning by the lake in the sun, which was idyllic. Russell was an extremely helpful host, who made contact before we arrived offering recommendations of places to eat and see and was able to take in a supermarket delivery which was in the fridge for our arrival. He was extremely helpful throughout the stay. We had an amazing time and could not recommend Colleton Hall enough.
