The property was lovely.
In a central position, with pleasant views across the harbour, we would certainly consider staying there again. The property was smartly-furnished, with a better kitchen than many we have stayed in. We would have appreciated more lamps around the place, as the overhead lighting wasn't to our taste and there was also a lack of waste bins, but these are minor quibbles. However, our stay was spoiled by the horrendous building works taking place next door. On weekdays, the noise began at 08.00 and continued until around 17.00. We had constant drilling, grinding and hammering to put up with and had to keep the windows closed even on the hottest days and also kept the curtains closed due to builders on scaffolding. We are glad we decided to travel by train, as the garage was permanently blocked by builders' vans and JCBs so a car would have been no use to us. We strongly believe that this should have been made clear to us when we were booking: I accidentally found out that building was going on through viewing Streetview on Google Maps. I subsequently revisited the Dream Cottages website and saw reviews mentioning the building works. Searching the property's web page, I finally found mention of the building works at the very bottom of the page under "About the Location". As we know Weymouth well, we had no reason to view this section. I believe you deliberately chose to hide the truth about this property in order to avoid losing bookings and I found this very disappointing: our booking definitely wasn't worth paying over £1000 for the week in the circumstances, and we will have to reconsider staying with Dream Cottages in the future

Nice spacious accommodation in a peaceful, quiet area with parking.
Situated so can drive to areas such as Weymouth, Dorchester etc and also walks only really accessible by car. Beds were comfortable and had nice quality linen. The property was well hoovered and tidy but there were a few areas of cleaning which were missed such as sticky tables and placemats. A pint of milk was provided with a packet of biscuits. Had problems with communication firstly with Sykes Cottages - called them with a couple of queries prior to our stay via phone, online chat and then WhatsApp and took 6 days to get a response. Also had no contact with the owner of the cottage during our stay which was a shame. I could not find a hairdryer and wanted to know if I had missed seeing its location as I had thought this would be a standard item to be provided and have never had to take one with me before. I contacted the owner regarding this query and got no response. I then tried contacting the caretaker via whatsapp, text and phone to see if I could get an answer that way and only had a missed call from the caretaker at 3am! A pleasant stay but because of these disappointing elements of the trip and poor communication we would not visit again or use Sykes Cottages.

We met James the farmer and property owner, he popped over to make a point of welcoming us and saying "Hello.
" Such a nice man, very pleasant, polite, friendly and helpful. On our first day we had a problem with the water heater and complained to the agent who then arranged with James to come over from his house to check the water heating system. He found it to be a slight problem with the trip switch, which has occured before, apparently. He showed us what to do if the problem reoccoured but fortunately it didn't. There were seven members of our family staying in the property for the week and we found the accomodation to be very adequate, warm and cosey.This included a board game we hadn't seen before and we enjoyed playing. Although a working farm it was a very quiet location and we were never disturbed or put out by the farming activities. The expansive wide open views from the cottage across the valley were lovely and we enjoyed walking the country lanes in the valley. It was unfortunate that, although there were several across-field footpaths, the County Council clearly had little interest in maintaining access points which starkly contrasted with the easy public footpath access we are used to in the northern part of England we come from.

Had a brilliant week here.
It was a great base and a short walk to the harbour and not much further to the beach. The company were quick to help with any issues we had which was appreciated they also followed up to check the issue was solved. It is a very spacious house and my boys loved having a garden to run around in. We were very comfortable and happy here for the week. Plenty of storage for clothes etc for everyone and the kitchen was well stocked. We were given a dishwasher tablet but there is no dishwasher, a washing machine tab would have great instead. A smart tv would be great too, although I appreciate this is a luxury that many could go without. We had to get a fire stick to keep my young boys happy in the mornings! There is a large selection of DVDâs and books for the grown ups to use. Overall cleanliness was good on the surface but could do with a little bit of a deep clean just to bring it up to scratch again but nothing major. Would definitely recommend it to others and come back again next time we stay in Weymouth.

We enjoyed our holiday at Ocean Watch 1.
The apartment is in a fantastic location and is nicely furnished. Unfortunately the cleaner was still at the property when we arrived just after 3pm and made a hasty exit. Once weâd unpacked the car and inspected the property, we found the kitchen, hallway and bathroom dirty. The kitchen counters, food cupboard and floor were covered with crumbs and there were numerous sticky spill stains on the floor which needed mopping. The bathroom ceiling was covered with dusty cobwebs and 3 resident spiders and the one soap dish available inside the shower got put our toiletries was filled with soap scum and water. Weâve enjoyed many years of holidaying through your company and this is the first time weâve encountered such dirty accommodation. If it was simply a case that the cleaner had run out of time then we would have been more than happy to let her continue and make ourselves scarce for a while. Other than that the stay was very pleasant.
