What our customers say about their holidays

    • Amy - Verified booking

I think overall Ella’s loft is a great place to stay and I enjoyed my week away.

The bed was very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. The homemade muffins were a nice touch. The hot tub was one of the best I’ve used. Definitely the highlight of my week. However it’s clear that the photos advertised were taken when the place was new. In my opinion it could do with a spruce up. Cracks in the bathroom floor, plaster coming off of the walls. It was pointed out to me that the blind in the bedroom was broken and being held down by wire, surely this is something that can easily be replaced? The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all during my stay, I reported it and was told the router had been reset but it still didn’t work. I had to use my own mobile data to watch the tv. I was only provided with one toilet roll and had to ask for more when that ran out mid stay. I don’t think this is something guests should have to ask for. I don’t like to leave negative feedback but there are just a few things that were missing for me to make this a five star stay.

What a wonderful little gem in the Kentish countryside.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Almost in two minds whether to leave a review as the selfish part of me wants to keep this place secret. Located in the beutiful town of Godmersham, Ella's Loft is a great base for either a relaxing weekend away or a week of exploring all the wonders Kent has to offer. Lots of lovely walk or cycling options straight from your doorstep. The hosts Steve and Sheila were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. They invited us for a walk one night and they let us explore grounds of the gorgeous Godmersham Hall with them and their two very lovable dogs. They gave us loads of great recommendations and Steve's baking was something else. The loft itself is very homely and well equipped. It's perfect for a couple. The hot tub is a wonderful luxury we ensured to make the most of during our stay. On our last night we were even lucky enough to see a meteor shower. We will definitely be looking to return in the future.

      Wow!! What can we say

? My wife and I really needed a quiet break for a couple of days after a very bumpy 3 months. Deer View provided the perfect place for us to spend some `us` time and chill out. Susan was the perfect host to us and on arrival showed us round. She was meticulous in her planning and management of her holiday let, right down to a big binder full of lots of places to go and things to do, her gift of her simply awesome fruit cake, to her cleaning regime, with the place truly spotless. All of the furnishings and utensils are brand new and are of quality, and not cheap rubbish as some do, showing respect for her guests. This part of England we are not too familiar with, is just beautiful and so quiet and peaceful, so ticked all of the boxes Our 3 nights and 2 days seemed to pass too quickly, but we would love to return.. A huge thank you John and Viv

On the listing they have failed to mention that this property is actually located in their front garden.

The only privacy you will get is in the actual cabin. You can see and hear the owners when you are in the hot tub. One of the owners was making a loud noise by chopping wood. Their daughter and granddaughter had arrived and they were loud. This isn’t mentioned on the website but it is mentioned in the welcome pack (after you’ve paid and arrived of course). They refused to give me a refund even though we left a few hours after arriving. I left because I couldn’t relax with the feeling of being watched. I was seen as I was walking to the hot tub and I’m very self conscious of my body because of my scars from having cancer. I will definitely be taking this further. I am so upset.

    • Susan - Verified booking

My husband and I were visiting family in the area and Deer View was a convenient location.

Richard and Susan were very welcoming on our arrival and easily contactable by phone during our stay, if required. The property was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped, with lovely touches throughout and plenty of storage. The open plan nature of the property and the fact that it was all on one level were ideal. My husband has dementia and likes to know where I am at all times as well has having some mobility issues. There are 2 small steps from the parking area up to the property but the handrail made them easy to manage. The hot tub was a lovely way to relax after playing with the grandchildren, and seeing the deer in the morning whilst having breakfast was a treat. We hope to return soon.
