What our customers say about their holidays

    • Louise - Verified booking

The property location was excellent close to everything and literally 1 minute to cross over the road and we were on the beach and in the sea.

The beds were comfortable and the property was equipped with everything we needed. The property is quite compact in the main living area (smaller than I normally book) but it worked and was done to a high standard with slightly smaller furniture in the living area so everything fits. We used the washer/dryer a couple of times which was really handy, especially when beach towels etc need a refresh towards the end of the holiday. The fridge was a little small and we struggled to fit everything in it at the start of the holiday just after our food shop and some foods were touching the back of the fridge and freezing. We noticed a few cup rings on the side tables which were probably outside the owners control, but it is a shame as the furniture is nice quality and the owner provides plently of mats and coasters which me and my children used all the time to protect surfaces. The bathroom was small but nicely done but the small unit in there was starting to rust a little, this didnt at all detract but may need replacing in the future. Although street parking is very busy around the area the parking pass was a real deal breaker and I did manage to find parking reasonably easily everytime we went out and came back. I did book some back up parking just in case as Im aware of times when all parking is taken, but I didnt need to use it. The welcome pack was a wonderful surprise and very much appreciated - thankyou. The only thing that possibly could be improved at the property is the blinds. It has beautiful white slat wooden blinds, clearly very extensive, however these are really heavy to pull up when it's hot and you want to open the windows, it also looks like previous guests have tangled up or shortened some of the cords so they are very high to reach. Also they don't provide blackout and as soon as dawn arrives (5pm onwards) the light streams in through the slats and sides, so my children in the double room at the front were awake too early and towards the end of the holiday we had to swap rooms and put them in the double at the back which was a little more shaded. The downside of such a central location was that there was quite a lot of noise on some evenings from revellers on the sea front but also from the pub at the back, but because we'd had such busy full days we managed to shut it out and slept OK and it's to be expected in such a prime location. All In all it's a good holiday home done to a high standard and the location absolutely makes it. Thanks for a nice stay.

The apartment is in a excellent location on beach road, close to all the amenities.

There is off road parking for one car. The beach is a short walk downhill. As you enter the hall hand saniterser has been provided. The apartment is lovely, really well equipped clean and tidy. A real home from home . The living room has gorgeous views of Woolacombe bay and the sea. An ideal place to watch the sun go down. There is good Wi-Fi, lots of dvd's ,cd's books and a selection of games to use. The bedrooms are spacious with super comfy beds. The main bedroom has a king size bed. There is plenty of storage space for your things / clothes and plenty of coat hangers. Also wall fans for the warmer nights. The bathroom is good with an over bath shower that is very powerful. Plenty of cleaning products to use too. Bath towels are provided. The kitchen is superbly equipped! ( never seen one as Good! ) with good quality items .There's a dishwasher so no washing up yay! A washing machine too. A hand towel , tea towels, dish cloth are provided and washing up liquid too. The shops, bars , pubs and takeaways are right on your doorstep with plenty to choose from. The vast stretch of beach is fantastic. Lovely and clean .Ideal for family ,friends or couples alike. There are a few surfboard ,bodyboard wetsuit hire shops near the beach. All in all you couldn't wish for a nicer base for your Devon holiday.

A great property with outstanding views, a good selection of facilities and everything needed for your stay.

We were treated with a a great view of the fireworks from the jubilee celebrations. Bed was comfy. A great location too, only 5-10 mins walk to center of St Ives. Meant we could enjoy evening dinners out without having to take the car. Had an enjoyable stay and would recommend. Our only criticisms would be cleanliness could be a tad better (although good) lots of dust/ dirt under the sofas (discovered whilst doing yoga) and a couple of food stains on the pillows sofas. Would suggest washing those. The room also gets extremely hot and this wasn’t the hottest of summer weeks, so either blinds or air con is perhaps needed in the living space. The tv remote didn’t seem to work for us, we could get the tv on using other remotes/ to watch SKY but not to change over to use Netflix etc. even with with a battery change. The lack of a lift was tough, especially after a day of st ives hills, although appreciate that is not something easily changed and not a deal breaker. Lastly the building work, we were warned or this, although had been advised it wasn’t right next door and we were the apartment closest to it. Luckily we we were out most days so it wasn’t too impactful. Mainly the mornings were a tad noisy from the very loud builders convos in the car park downstairs, perhaps this could be addressed.

We very much enjoyed our time in Lyme Regis.

We booked this accommodation on the basis of the "perfect" listing. This was very misleading based on other accommodations we have stayed in. The flat itself was very nice. But the floorboards meant we were terrified of disturbing anyone in the flat below. It is an older property and perhaps this cannot be avoided, but it was disappointing. The glasses (when we found them) were in a older cupboard that was difficult for me to deal with. I chose a "perfect" listing because I have serious issues about hygiene and sanitation. The glasses were smeared and all had to go through the dishwasher before use, and the cupboard was not one that could easily be wiped out and cleaned. I would not recommend this flat to dog owners. Taking a dog out for a pee involved stairs, a busy road and no garden or park area easily accessible. There is a wooded area to the rear of the property but out dog was for some reason terrified of it! We were relieved as it avoided lots of mud! The flat is recommended for quite families without a dog. Facilities are fine - but don't expect that perfection offered!

We have stayed at this property 3 times previously to this visit and on previous visits have posted 5 stars and top ratings for all categories.

However, one this occasion we were disappointed with the amount of dog hair we found in the apartment (this property previously to this year did not allow dogs). We found hair on our clothes and on our bags, and also on the bottom of our slippers (we always wear slippers within the apartment). Also the soles of our slippers were very dirty from walking on the floorboards and carpets/rugs, which we never found before. We have no pets at home so the dog hair must have originated from within the apartment. We did enjoy our stay at the property but will probably unfortunately have to look for a property which does not allow dogs for our next stay in Lyme (we visit every year). Maybe the owners could purchase a vacuum cleaner which specifically deals with dog hair and the floorboards and carpets/rugs should perhaps be washed after a dog has been in the apartment? We regret having to point out this matter as in all other respects the apartment is very well furnished with excellent facilities.
