Really nice place to stay.
Right in the centre of everything from walking / driving distance. The apartment was clean and tidy upon arrival and instructions how to collect the keys from the apartment prior to arrival was very clear. The apartment has the basic things you need for your stay. To access the apartment you need to go up around 30 steps so if you have walking difficultyâs or mobility issues I would check this prior to booking. Salt , pepper , oil , hand soap , washing up liquid , cloths , tea towels and limited dishwasher tablets was also provided what we was unaware off. Also a welcome box with tea bags / coffee / biscuits / sugar / milk sticks was in the apartment kitchen , this was a unexpected nice touch. The allocated parking spot was available the whole time we arrived although upon check out there was a car blocking us in behind our car , but lucky we could get out from a tight squeeze down the other parking space next to it as there was not a car there. If there was we would have not been able to get out. The night before the same car was also blocking us in but by time we went out late afternoon it was gone so had no issue getting out. The only thing I would say and it has been mentioned on another review is maybe a welcome pack , as we was not sure where to put the rubbish and instructions on the Wi-Fi code and maybe how to use the hive and what to do with used towels / if we was required to strip the bedding etc. Overall though it was a lovely stay and would definitely recommend Windermere Crescent , brilliant for small familyâs or a couple.

We stayed at this cottage during the Christmas holiday and found it to be a mixed experience.
The property itself is charming and in a beautiful location, but there were several issues that affected our stay. The heating in the house is not very strong, making it relatively cold during the winter months, and it cannot be adjusted, which was inconvenient. The shower water was also on the colder side, though still manageable. Additionally, the cottages are part of a connected complex, and one of the other houses triggered a fire alarm while setting up their fire pit. This disrupted all the cottages for about half an hour, including ours while we were enjoying Christmas dinner. We contacted the maintenance team, but they only recorded the issue over the phone and didnât resolve it immediately. The next morning, the house lost power entirely, forcing us to change our plans and head into town instead of staying in. Overall, the place has potential, but these minor issues, especially during the colder months, detract from the experience. While itâs a decent option for a stay, I would recommend improvements to heating, water temperature, and maintenance response to make it more comfortable for guests.

Having stayed at the Hayloft many years ago, it was a shame to return to it in this way.
The booking was last minute, but after a few hours delay we were assured it was ready for guests. On arrival we found it full of cobwebs and dead insects like it had been empty for a while. The kitchen was like a crime scene with what we hope was red sauce and not blood stains on the tiles, the walls, the floors, the cupboards and the cooker hood. The cupboards were full of crockery and glasses which were stained and greasy to the touch with obvious food residue on them. Worst still the pillow cases had either blood or more red sauce on them which was not the ideal start to a first night holiday rest. A day cleaning most of this up ourselves and running the dishwasher a few times helped make things satisfactory. An offer of a ârepeatâ clean was declined as we had planned a short escape for peace and privacy. Feel reluctant to leave a poor review for a place we previously loved, but the photographs show that the return was far from the standard we expected to come back to.

Donât get me wrong, this is a lovely loft apartment with good facilities and we enjoyed our stay in it.
Great location; quiet and handy for Windermere and Bowness. Slight negatives: Cleanliness was ok but there was a general feeling that it doesnât get a thorough clean between stays; for example, when we moved the luggage chest to use as a coffee table, it was very clearly dirty around it. There are blinds on the roof windows, but they donât actually block out any light. Thatâs fine in the main living area, but if the suns up at 0500hrs the bedroom is in daylight, particularly as there is a roof window directly above the bed. Star gazers may enjoy it, but there should be an option to blackout the room! TV aerial lead is too short; if the TV is pivoted to be viewed from the two seater, it pulls on the aerial cable and sometimes loses the connection. Itâs not 5 star unless itâs perfect!

Directions to property need updating.
No Lakelovers office next door and fireplace shop now a laundry. Makes it less easy to spot the front door. The laundry that is now next door is quite obtrusive. The machines start between 8 and 9 everyday until the evening and can be heard in the hayloft. If the skylights on that side of the property are left open, then the warm air and fluff from the vents gets blown in. This reduces theâluxury â feel of the apartment and meant we could not leave them open during what was thankfully a very hot week. A small coffee table would be handy as would a clothes horse as the washing machine has no drying function (that I could see). No instructions on rubbish or recycling so brought the plastic home.
