      Fabulous location.

The views from the front windows are fantastic it was great seeing the bore come in. Loved the bottle of fizz and complimentary teas & coffees. Very spacious, the facilities were all top notch and rooms tastefully decorated. The family bathroom is amazing. The kitchen was great to cook in. The people living downstairs were friendly and helpful. The walk starting just outside the door along the estuary I think we walked every day. Load of things to do and visit nearby. A walk away the fish and chip shop gets a 10/10,the Fighting Cock pub is worth a visit as are the little cafes along the promenade. The local Londis has everything you need. The owners were very quick to respond when I had a query. I would definitely book again. The kingsize bed was a little hard for me but that's a personal preference and the towels were a bit on the small size. Only one suggestion - have a poster at the bottom of the stair explaining the recycling and the collection dates. We missed the day 'cos we weren't sure and the bags were full to the brim from previous visitors. We took our recycling home.

Cartmel flat is fabulous, we had a lovely long weekend .

Just my husband and I stayed in the flat which was a perfect break. It was very inviting and made special with the welcome tray and lovely fresh flowers in the lounge and kitchen. The flat is contemporary and beautifully styled. Every room was in excellent condition- kitchen, lounge, shower room and bedroom. The bed was super comfy with quality pillows and duvet and sleep / pillow spray ( amazing) The settee most comfy. Charming Cartmel views from every window. Carol & Rob had thought of everything from a brolly, picnic blanket, hay fever tablets, a sewing kit and so much more - tremendously stocked house:) We would love to return for another special weekend in such beautiful surroundings in the flat and in the village. Thank you so much. Ps. I feel I may not have found a rubber non slip shower mat I require as I have a mobility issues. I had no problems with the stairs which were easy to manage with a good banister rail and larger stair steps; don’t be put off if you have slight difficulties with stairs as there are just a handful and the bannister supports you.

Excellent views: whatever the weather, they were interesting & beautiful throughout.

Facilities excellent, except that the heating varied from fairly warm to cold, and this prevented total comfort. I did not use the washing machine, the dishwasher, the grill, nor the oven, nor the microwave; certainly the facilities were there but cannot comment on the usage; the cooking rings were somewhat unpredictable & cooking was therefore not a quick & straight-forward process. Only used 1 bed (sea-blue room), wardrobes & hanging spaces in all. Very comfortable & slept particularly well. Bathroom: shower a delight (space & hot water).Good size for space/comfort. Would have preferred plastic chair to sit. Lounge very comfortable; TV excellent. Plenty of room. Steps/stairs: Considerable & extremely steep. I had requested a country cottage for gentle exercise! Basically, they were going to get rid of any problem or reduce me to hospital! With all the luggage to carry, I should have been notified, and I do not recall any advice in the advance details. Very pleasant family.

Beautiful flat, probably the best equipped holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in.

The owners really have thought of everything and the fizz and chocolates were a lovely touch. Our first time in Cartmel and hopefully not our last. We wanted a relaxing week, so didn’t venture too far from the village, but didn’t need to, despite a few closures of hospitality venues due to refits/decorating etc. Can recommend The Cavendish Arms and The Royal Oak. Great atmosphere, food, beer and wine at both. Oscars is also very good for wine. The cheese shop is excellent and staff are very friendly and knowledgable. The Premier convenience store is very well stocked, reasonably priced and again very friendly. Good walks to Holker Hall and Cark.

At first we were disappointed to find the flat was dusty in a few areas (but clean in most others) - but then we met the owners of Crows Nest who explained that the windows had all been replaced the week previously and "there was dust everywhere".

So they had been very busy cleaning the flat, but there were a few odd areas which had been missed (it is a large flat). We then realised what a major problem they had faced and did not wish to complain. We also suspect it was the dust which set off the fire alarms one night (early morning) - much to our annoyance. Again the owners were full of apologies and immediately arranged for the maintenance engineer to carry out a full check the next day. Their care for the flat - and for us - could not be faulted.
