What our customers say about their holidays

    • Gabriella - Verified booking

After me & my partner worked all through COVID a break is what we needed.

After looking on every site we came across this hidden gem! The owner was very welcoming on arrival and gave us a quick tour. He explained that everyday between 7&8am he would check the hot tub but we never heard him so he was very quiet! The place was very clean and had everything we needed especially to cook with. Everything was very much simple to use and instructions were given in a folder. The bed was very comfy and the shower was just amazing. The heating was simple to adjust and there was even a dishwasher so no hassle of washing up! The tv had Netflix and prime so lots of choices to watch, the WiFi is free however is a little slow. The outside was very clean and the hot tub was an extra to relax in. The location was perfect and a lot to do around the area and it was located in a peaceful area for relaxing especially with horses & sheep as neighbours. The owner kindly dropped off some menus of a local pub that had reopened and we visited one evening for dinner. We didn’t want to leave so we will definitely be back when we can!

This is an absolutely gorgeous little place, we had an amazing stay.

Key collection was exceptionally easy, (Andy left us a voicemail giving us easy directions to the property and instructions) and we weren't disturbed whatsoever throughout our stay. Sitting outside on the patio all you can hear is the sound of animals, the trees in the wind, and the occasional plane, nothing else. The horses in the field opposite are an absolute delight to look at. Pure bliss. We were surprised on arrival about all the little touches like full icecube trays, milk in the fridge, every kitchen accessory you could want, and spa gowns for after using the hot tub. The property itself is also absolutely spotless. You can tell the owner is really passionate about making this place amazing and that you have a great stay. Hottub and BBQ set are looking a little bit worn/used now compared to the photos, but the hottub still works flawlessly and was fantastic. Other than that everything was absolutely faultless.

One of the best cottages in the UK we've had the pleasure to stay. Located perfectly for some countryside peace and quiet and a short drive away from lots of great walks in the Exmoor National Park. Wonderful views to the surrounding hillside while relaxing in the hot tub, regardless of the weather as it's covered. The owner was happy to stop and chat when we saw him and even gave us a little history of the farm. I would definitely recommend planning some local walks straight from the cottage, especially a beautiful circular taking in Huntsham and its lake. If you're a runner and like me you enjoy some runs while on hols then be prepared for the toughest first 400m you'll probably ever experience. The climb from the bottom of the hillside the cottage is based begins steep and then gets steeper. My lungs will testify to this :-)

The cottage was in a beautiful area with great views in a secluded area- just what we were searching for!

We stayed for a long weekend and left feeling sad we hadnt booked longer. This really was a great experience, as my partner quotes "a home away from home". We enjoyed the hottub so much and really felt relaxed after returning home. Great open set up inside with everything you could need. Our only recommendations (not complaints as had a lovely stay) would be a sign for gate entrance and note on the directions online as we struggled finding it at first, a little bit of maintenance with the lights in the bathroom and outside and finally a little net for the hot tub as it can get quite abit of dirt inside if you are hopping in and out of it. Again we thank Andy the owner for the wonderful stay and have already recommended our couple friends!

    • Mr Swetnam - Verified booking

Ideally located if you just want to recharge and to have peace and quite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Superb views across the valley from the cottage and the hot tub.You may get the odd interruption from birds and distant sheep and cattle, but generally its you, the view and the wind in the trees! There is also a bonus as you may see deer appear out of the near wood land. The only down side, is the drive up Cove Hill Road to the destination, as this road becomes very narrow, the width of a car and it like that for about 1.5 miles. Best way we found was to use the Bolham Road from Tiverton and then take the Old Tiverton Road towards Bampton, which takes you round the back of Knighthayes.
