On arrival at Cannon Folly we were immediately taken back by the beautiful location of this impressive building.
The apartment though a bit smaller than the photographs suggest was certainly of an ample size for two people. It was well maintained, very clean and had a full array of equipment. Without a doubt, the main focus of the apartment is the view. It overlooks the southern end of the Plymouth Sound. For an entire week we enjoyed having our breakfast on the balcony with the beautiful blue sea glistening in the early morning sunshine, whilst sailing boats bobbed up and down in front of the small lighthouse on the plymouth sound breakwater. We also had the pleasure of watching the odd British Warship passing through. The Fort is very well maintained complete with private harbour and a small beach. However sadly only residents have access to the swimming pool. The location is within easy reach of Kingsand Edgecoumb park and also a small passenger ferry that takes you across to Plymouth. There are lots of boat trips that will take you for a little trip around the Sound as well as further a field. It's a perfect location if you like peace and quiet but to be honest if you have small children they would have to be well supervised as the harbour and the jetties are quite exposed. This was probably the best located seaside holidays we have had since we were young and before resorts became spoilt by over crowding. Cannony Folly is definitely on the top of our list for seaside vacations.

The apartment at 13 Dartmouth House was one of the best places we have booked for a holiday it was attractive, comfortable and furnished beautifully.
The kitchen was very well equipped with everything that you needed. We so enjoyed our stay and loved the peace and quiet of this lovely apartment, it had a very relaxing atmosphere and one felt immediately at home. It was a bonus to have secure parking for your car with easy access by lift from the second floor. Dartmouth is a beautiful place with many beautiful old buildings with so much history. There are a lovely selection of attractions such as the steam railway and boat trips on the river with the most wonderful scenery. The apartment was located at Mayors Avenue a short walking distance from the harbour and the beautiful nearby gardens. Only a short walk away the Marks and Spencerâs food outlet was so convenient for any shopping required. Dartmouth has many restaurants to enjoy and the nearby George and Dragon for an evening meal I can definitely recommend. The staff at the Coast and County Office were very nice, friendly and welcoming and were extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend this apartment to family and friends who I know would enjoy it as much as we did.

Bakers Dozen was an ideal (quiet) holiday apartment.
Large, clean and with all necessary facilities. Big enough for four adults. View over the rooftops to the hills via the Juliet balcony but the (slight) view to the river is mostly obscured by trees. Car parking is a great bonus but there are always two cars parked in the entrance road which make it a bit tight getting to the car park entrance. I have a 2017 Modeo and it was fine. A Range Rover may struggle!! M&S next door for all ones food needs. Dartmouth is great. Our second time here. Two possible improvements. The main bathroom has a shower/tap fitting but no curtain or method of holding the shower head to the wall (this would also require some additional wall tiling methinks). It didn't affect us as we were only two people but if all four want showers then all will have to use the bedroom ensuite. The kitchen "welcome washing up pack" has the smallest bottle of washing up liquid!! Lasted two washes!. Would we go back? Absolutely, we are in the process of booking next year. See you soon...

Generally, we were very impressed with the apartment and the availability of "extras" - e.
G. the Coffee machine, USB charging plug and cable to link a laptop to the TV screen. We suspect that the owners use the apartment quite frequently themselves, which would explain these items, but it was refreshing to see that they were happy to leave them for use by visitors. Re our "cleanliness" rating, I reported to the local office, that the bases of both bedside lamps in the large bedroom had what I considered to be more than 1 weeks worth of dust on them, (they were flat bases,) and had only been wiped on one side. I only discovered this whilst trying to work out how to switch them on, (you just touch the base.) I have photographs should you wish to view these. My wife also reports that she found the cold tap in the bathroom difficult to turn off, to avoid a continual 'drip.' I will leave it to your own discretion as to whether you publish all, or a redacted version of my feedback.

The apartment is spacious and comfortable with ample storage space.
The parking area is good with room to manoeuvre larger cars. The staircase would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues; the details should make clear that there are 39 steep granite steps up to the living area (22 steps to the apartment door and a further 17 inside). The provision of kitchen utensils is rather sparse eg no can opener, slotted spoons, trays, roasting tin and a few more mugs would be handy. Usually in holiday lets there is a file giving details about bin collections, instructions for the heating system, TV, WIFI code, local services and amenities etc but there is no information folder currently at this property. We found the apartment got very warm on sunny days (lucky us!) and we would have preferred lighter weight bedding to be available. That said, we had a very enjoyable week and would certainly recommend the apartment to others.
