What our customers say about their holidays

Smashing little cottage just a stones throw from the sea.

Bed was comfy and warm as weather was a bit dodgy. Kitchen well equipped. Lounge was comfortable and free view on TV came in handy for evening entertainment. Bathroom spacious, shower good n hot and proper thick bath sheets!. Little secure yard so doggo could be let outside without concerns for a mooch. I did meet the owner x1 and was able to thank him in person for the welcoming bottle of Prosecco for me and treats for my hairy mate. We got a parking for the week at the closely located car park for £35. I am glad we did as the traffic warden made an unexpected visit!. Gorran Haven is a little gem and the beach is lovely, local shop is well stocked with baked goods and other foods including locally sourced veg, and the bar is very friendly. Used the chip shop although they did only open from Wednesday to Saturday. That was great and portions very generous. And this week bar shut around 5pm, hot food was also available there during the day. Hours do extend as season gets busier.

Generally a nice place in quiet surroundings although a busy yard due to it being on a working livery.

Your private courtyard garden has a lovely hot tub, both could have done with a better clean, on the outside of the hot tub and floor of the courtyard. The stairs have a twist in them and the shower is in the bath. So if you had mobility issues then the place is not for you. The bathroom would have been better with just a walk-in shower. One morning we didn’t have any hot water. This was reported and fixed quickly. We sat there for an hour waiting for someone to fix it. Whatever the problem we was not told it had been fixed. On the day of departure, maintenance people were in the property as we were loading the car. We found this rather rude and should’ve waited until we had left. No fire instructions but we did find a fire blanket and extinguisher in a kitchen cupboard. On the whole we enjoyed our stay, the place being new and a year old. Just those pointers for improvement. We would consider returning.

Delightful little cottage in a wonderful location, just outside Bodmin means the whole of Cornwall is at your disposal.

All the destinations are within easy reach, although tucked away it's only 4 miles to get onto the main highways to go on your adventures. The cottage is ideal for couples, or maybe with a single child, it has everything you need, although be warned elder visitors the double bed is low. For cyclists there is the Camel Trail at the bottom of the hill 1/2 mile away, you can ride all the way into Padstow 18 miles (downhill all the way) depending on your riding level it maybe wise to take the bikes to the trail rather than trying to ride back up the hill to the cottage it is steep. We had a slight issue but Sykes & the owners bent over backwards to get it resolved almost immediately. It's set on a farm which I don't think is working as it is so quiet, there were no tractors buzzing around. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there & will definitely consider going back.

The cottage is quite dark inside, could do with a sign saying mind your head on the front door as it is low and we both banged our head on the door and stairs several times The farm yard in full of derelict buildings and doesn’t look good on arrival Would not be safe for younger children , But having said that we had a lovely holiday ,ideally situated from all the places we wanted to go The cottage was comfortable ,bedding clean One thing I will say is the cottage was in desperate need of a new toilet seat Although it was clean it was all stained and looked mouldy I cleaned it myself when I got there and it didn’t look any better Although the owners were there we never met them they never came to introduce themselves or ask if everything was ok This was the cheapest cottage by far we have stayed in so I knew it had something wrong with it

We really enjoyed our stay at Moonbeach Cabin.

It was well equipped and clean .The owner (Steve) was helpful and always available by text for any queries. We made full use of the private comfy seating area for alfresco lunches. The area has everything you need for a pleasant stay although the fish and chip shop only opens at the weekend now the season is over but the well stocked village shop and PO is open every day. The Llawnroc Hotel served nice food, they also are open for morning coffee and is dog friendly it is only a few yards up the hill from Moonbeach. Would definitely recommend Moonbeach and Gorran Haven and the surrounding area. There are lovely walks along the coast path or you can just sit and admire the view. It is also worth knowing that there is a small bus that goes from the car park to the surrounding villages which also takes dogs.
