On arrival, out of respect, I took my shoes off but unfortunately the carpet in the bedroom was soaking wet.
When discussed with staff, they said it had been deep cleaned prior to us arriving. The cabin was clean and well presented but unfortunately with the carpet being so wet, there was a strong damp smell throughout. The shower was cold. This was mentioned to the reception staff, no one came to sort it. Due to having PTSD, I have a service dog. I explained this to staff but unfortunately this wasnât passed down and I was repeatedly questioned by multiple staff (some lovely, some not so kind) about this even though she had her labelled harness on. Unfortunately, 1 member of the bar staff was extremely rude- when I went to the bar to get a drink she was standing with her work colleague, looked me up and down and said to her work colleague âYou can sort that oneâ. There was a dog roaming around outside the cabins, pooing everywhere which the owner didnât clean up even though there are lots of dog bins. I had to point this out to staff. I refuse to pick up other peopleâs dogs poo. On leaving, there were two males sat in their car on the carpark right outside reception smoking very strong cannabis. Marian staff were seen walking past the car but nothing was mentioned. The car parking spaces were small and the disabled parking spaces were small too, there was only 4 and were being used by people in large trucks with no blue badges displayed. As a disabled badge owner, this is extremely frustrating!! I would like to say on a positive note- Jason the handyman was an absolute godsend and I wished I got to thank him before we left.

Eia’s loft is lovely and colourful place to stay and where it’s away from the pubs and main streets I found it to be a very peaceful stay. I don’t drive and everything you could possibly need is within walking distance. There is a lovely tea room below that sell both eat in options but also take away sandwiches etc which is very convenient. It’s well set up for a self catered stay. However, the original advert said there was a tumble dryer and other agents are still advertising a tumble dryer. There was no tumble dryer which was a huge inconvenience to me as I had packed minimally on the bases I have spinal issues and so to keep baggage down I intended to wash and dry clothes. When the agent contact the owner they denied advertising a tumble dryer and edited the description. I have found 4 other adverts listing the property as having a tumble dryer with other agents. Then there is a clear photo of a jacuzzi bath which does not work. There are no windows in the bathroom so it does tend to smell damp after a couple of days. But there are plenty of other places to hang damp towels etc so as a single person this wasn’t a major problem. But if there was a couple and more towels being used it may be.

The flat is sited perfectly close to all amenities, that's a plus.
On the other hand, the flat needed maintenance and regular inspection. We were so disappointed that both settees had their liners torn down under them, the cushions were also stained, not washed in a long time. There were cobwebs all around the kitchen and other rooms. Also discovered one of two carving knives had been snapped in half and hidden behind the cutlery tray, the same draw was full of crumbs, not cleaned out for quite a while. The toaster had been damaged and would only work when holding the handle down. The bedroom main light did not work, I discovered the energy saver tube had been smashed and the lamp holder damaged. I replaced this with permition of the owner as I was an electrician. The bed bed felt insecure when you laid on it and creaked badly, luckily i found a screw driver and allen key to tighten it all up. Later as we stripped the bed we discovered that the mattrass on the bed was badly stained, so off putting! We also had to buy our own kitchen sponge, surface cleaner and toilet rolls. Only one toilet roll for two people, very poor! Finally, the entrance to the building was overgrown with wild trees and weeds.

I honestly canât find a single fault with Harbour Light!
We have stayed in a fair few places in Boscastle and my Dad has been visiting for 40 years and this place blew him away. The view of the harbour from the apartment is the best in Boscastle by far, the place was immaculately clean and well furnished. The kitchen and bathroom were top notch and the bedrooms were really comfy. Thereâs everything in the apartment that you could want and I imagine it is very warm if you visit in winter time. Loading and unloading the car is really easy with plenty of space to pull up right outside the front door, then all you have to do is park at the public car park in the village. If you get a week long ticket with the Just Park app then it works out really cheap daily. At time of writing it cost £15.10 to park for 7 days. Great that you can check in at 3pm, others in the village are much later. The whole thing was very simple. I really couldnât find a single bad thing to say about our stay, we will be back for sure!

The whole long weekend was amazing from start to finish. Property is stunning and very spacious, log burner was lovely. Huge space on the grounds for kids (and adults) to play safely. We had 4 adults and 2 kids staying for 3 nights and we had everything we needed for everyone. Host Emily was absolutely brilliant and nothing was a bother, very accommodating and had fresh eggs in the property on our arrival. Emily was also amazing with our 2 girls, taking them to feed the animals and bringing us wee bits for our snowmen we built when we were there as we woke to a white out on the 2nd which was perfect for us. Donald was definitely a highlight for the girls too, fair to say they loved him. We all said we would definitely return in the future as it was a brilliant weekend. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to book.
