What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sarah - Verified booking

      What a fabulous rental !

:-) Jayne happened to be at the gate when we arrived and could not have been more welcoming. The Milkshed was spotless and had everything we needed, with a great variety of utensils, dinnerware and pots and pans along with a great powerful large shower (which is often lacking in rentals). Thank you for the bread, cream tea and ciders. Set in a great location with easy access to the M5 which easily allowed us to go to different places every day. When we returned from our days out we had a secure area for us and our 2 whippets immediately outside the Milkshed plus a wonderful garden area to sit and enjoy the evening rays. It was the perfect setting for a much needed break for myself, sister and niece and both Andy and Jayne were so friendly to us all, suggesting places to go for shade (we were there in the hottest week of the year and so we were seeking out woods etc to go with the dogs) and recommending other great places such as Darts Farm shop (amazing place) and the surrounding area. We can honestly say that the Milkshed along with Jayne and Andy gave us a holiday break to remember - thank you so much. Hopefully I'll be back, perhaps just me and the whippets, but would love to come again

Highly recommend the Milk shed, for its fantastic owners Andy & Jayne who go out their way to ensure your stay is excellent and offering advice and tips for the surrounding area.

The accommodation is clean, well kept and has all the amenities set in a lovely location in the countryside, though only some 20 minutes away from the coast. It is worth visiting the Blacksmiths Arms for good honest pub food in a friendly atmosphere, which is also welcomes dogs and only 5 minutes from the Milk Shed. Also, The Five Bells Inn is excellent for its bistro style food and only 9 minutes from the Milk Shed to. Things to do: Sidmouth beach (Stoney) and town. If you wish to see more of the Town do a Treasure trail, order before you go at www.treasuretrails.co.uk If you like to walk Killerton (National Trust) is a nice place set in the Countryside. Seaton Tramway in Seaton Donkey sanctuary is free entry and carpark and one for the kids for an hour. Darts Farm free carpark and 19-minute walk into Topsham village Budleigh beach Quad bikes Village of Beer We look forward to re visiting in the not to distant future.

A lovely property with great outside space.

Unfortunately for us the weather wasn’t ideal for sitting outside but the main courtyard is a lovely sun trap and perfect for that morning coffee. The master bedroom is a great size, the bathroom and shower lovely and the kitchen/dining/living area is compact but had plenty of space for the pair of us and our two Springer spaniels. The kitchen area is well laid out if you want to cook, with plenty of pans and crockery (although lacking a knife block). Whilst not critical in such a peaceful location, a bigger tv would help those with children or those of us whose eyesight isn’t as great as it once was…! The location is terrific, with plenty of woodland walks, beaches nearby and a plethora of pubs to choose from. Jayne is a wonderful and welcoming host, and we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay at the Milk Shed.

We have the absolute best stay & would love to return.

The separate use of the outside space was great for our 2 dogs. The beds were super comfy. There was a lovely welcome basket of things which was much appreciated. Also, just little touches of board games, DVDs and a basket full of leaflets & information were all great things to have. We would definitely be interested in returning at some point & it seems very popular for returning guests. I did leave a few recommendations but they were only very very minor things. That didn’t impact our stay but were more of a ‘nice to have’ sort of thing. Jayne, was massively accommodating & so friendly. Would fully recommend this to all. Thank you :)

Lovely little milk shed which was spotless and very nicely presented with comfy beds and all kitchen requirements, laundry in the main house.

The owners were away and Christine a friend was left in charge. She was delightful and extremely helpful with suggestions of where to eat in the evening etc.Fresh eggs, milk ,bread and scones a lovely bonus. We were however disappointed with the description of dog walks from the property. This consisted of any one of four fairly busy lanes with high hedgerows keeping the dog on a short lead. Or a short walk up to a farmers field which was ready for harvesting. We would also have preferred to have the garden adjacent to the rental accommodation. But am I being too fussy?? Overall we really enjoyed our short break and would recommend a stay here. Anne F
