What our customers say about their holidays

    • E Family - Verified booking

No.33 Cottage 2 is beautifully decorated and very comfortable to stay in. It is very well-equipped, with a small but very functional kitchen/breakfast bar area. I think the kitchen has underfloor heating as the tiles were very toasty on our feet! The lounge area is comfortable, with a big squishy sofa and armchair to laze in after your long walk on the beach! The garden has a bistro table and chairs to enjoy a drink in the sun. The bed is very comfy and massive! The bathroom was beautiful and I loved having the large walk-in shower. The only issue that was slightly annoying was that you could hear traffic noise especially if the bedroom window was open, but it didn't really bother us too much. I think this would be a great location to rent with a group as you could all have separate cottages but be next to each other as there are 4 cottages in the terrace. Thornham is a great location to explore the North Norfolk Coast, plus you have the Deli over the road (where you can park) and Eric's Fish and Chips just up the road (amazing!) We would definitely stay here again.

Everything I hoped for and more If you love a shepherd's hut, you will be no stranger to compromise.

Not here!! From the double barn door entrance, the big comfy bed, full size breakfast bar, oven and fridge, to the underfloor heating, radiators, hot shower and big fluffy towels, everything is superbly thought out. The ample, fully enclosed garden is perfect for dogs, the view is beautiful and the remote, peaceful location is idyllic. The welcome hampers are always a lovely touch and at Utopia I found it was exceptionally generous. I spent a week here working and relaxing in equal measure. The WiFi and phone signal is super reliable. I even logged in to my Netflix account for a cosy movie in bed on the swivel mounted tv. Freshingfield dog park is just a 12- minute drive away if you need an enclosed space to wear your canine companion out, off lead. A great winter get away from the hustle of everyday life and I would love to return in the spring/summer without the work laptop, to explore the area on foot. In summary and in comparison to my experience of similar properties, Utopia is a cut above.

Awesome Exceptional well designed and comfortable Lodge. Everything you need is provided for guests and dogs too. Spotlessly clean accommodation, comfortable quality bed, excellent walk in shower. Welcome pack provided as a bonus. Quiet and peaceful with wildlife on your doorstep ranging from pheasants, rabbits, muntjac deer and an odd Apache helicopter flying overhead. A majestic English oak tree in the centre of the fenced grass lawn and patio area, which our Staffie enjoyed rolling around on. Plenty of places to visit, Salisbury, Marlborough, Stonehenge, Old Sarum Hill Settlement, Avebury Stones, Silbury Hill, West Kennet Long Barrow. Plenty of pubs/inns and restaurants to choose from that allow dogs. Wonderful and friendly hosts but not intrusive. We certainly recommend Labrador Lodge and hope to return next year.

We had a lovely time the cottage has everything you need for a short stay. The welcome basket had a number of tasty treats for us, as well as some biscuits for our little dog. The walk in shower was great, plenty of liquid soap and shampoo, and soft fluffy towels to wrap yourself in! The cottage is walking distance to the Orange Tree, the food there is delicious, but you do need to book. The pub is dog friendly as well. We also had lunch in the Thornham Deli across the road, again excellent, with plenty to choose from. The cottage is only a short walk from the Norfolk Coast path, so ideal for walking the dog. Overall we had an excellent stay and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the cottage.

What a fantastic little cottage this is. Whoever did the interior design, can you come and do my house! Just beautifully clean and presented, with a lovely welcome basket. The deli opposite was just wonderful. I spent a fortune on gifts and food. The location is brilliant, with easy access to all the wonderful beaches. The bed was just so comfortable and the bath was a dream to relax in after a long day walking with the dog. We ate in all the 3 fabulous pubs in Thornham, as the weather was good to us and we were able to sit outside. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this stunning little cottage to anyone looking for 5 star accommodation for yourself and a dog.
